Omfg, baby, you didn’t. It’s not that. Ahhhh, how should I explain. When we talked about (our way of understanding) the KagaAo otp in the other messages I already agreed with you and you have such a more suitable way of explaining their relationship btw, ow man, but yeah. I agree with you. I see Aomine in that way, too and I see him topping Kagami if they’re equal in it and do compare ideas. When I wrote that text earlier I left that out, because it was only provoked by the people, who state the ship as a one-off or as something illogical (or as Kagami acting “different than usual” aka off or weird, which I’ve seen so damn often I couldn’t ignore it this time, uwu) instead of seeing (or at least tolerating) it as a real way of shipping Aomine and Kagami with each other.
Some people treat KagaAo as if it’s a joke and I’m just :(. I’m not deadlocked with ships, totally not. Usually I even change opinions about certain otps in time or like them in every position and it’s the same with kagaAo sometimes, like in the way you described it. I prefer Kagami topping, but I see them as equal and both have that enormous ego you talked about and Aomine is asshole-ish, while Kagami is like constantly heated up, so there is the challenge of who’s-going-to-top all the time. (As you said, once Aomine mellows out, it could change, but I like Aomine this way, so I think I’d prefer it this way…?)
Anyways, is that confusing? Ahhh, probably. Man, I wish I could explain my feelings better. I didn’t mean to say I can’t see Kagami in bottom position (with Aomine) at all. Just the way that most of the Aokaga shippers/fanarts ship it is not my style. And I’d like people to respect KagaAo as a ship, that’s what I mostly intended to outline in that essay. Ughhh. v_v
