She was right, as usual. That didn’t stop a smile from appearing as he thought back on the promise of a dance.  “We never did get that dance, did we?” Cole knew the answer to that question, but it was still his way of showing he remembered. A hand reached out, taking hold of Phoebe’s gently as he pulled her close. His other hand moved to her lower back, keeping her there as he began to sway to the music. “Can’t break a promise now, can I?” He asked in a hushed tone so only she could hear. The crowd around him fading as now all that mattered to him was the woman he loved in his arms.

“We have to make this look convincing.” Cole whispered out in reply, not wanting to make anything look obvious.  “If you want this to work you’re going to have to put up some sort of a fight.” His hands began to raise as he spoke. This wasn’t what he wanted to do but what choice did they have if they wished to escape alive? The good news for them was no powers were allowed, meaning no energy balls from him. It made the fight look more convincing on his end if he didn’t fire off low energy balls. Instead it would be hand to hand combat and that was something he knew well and so did Phoebe. After all, he did help train her and saw first hand.  “Now, are you ready?”

                                                                  supposed   to   HELP  -  it   probably   does,   on   one   of   those   levels   of   self   reflection   she   doesn’t   like   to   go   to   all   that   often.   no,   she’ll   probably   appreciate   it   when   she   wakes   up   and   lays   in   bed   after   a   nightmare   at   3am,   but   not   right   now.   it’s   one   of   her   things  :  being   late   to   appreciate   things.   “really ?”   thinks   back   to   STORIES   told   with   carefully   left   out   details   “does   it   ever   get   easier   to   ignore.”

letting  herself  into  her  aunts  home  as  easily  as  she  would  her  own,  kat  follows  the  sounds  of  movement  coming  from  the  kitchen.  ❝  okay,  i  need  some  of  that  classic  aunt  pheebs  advice  to  stop  me  from  vanquishing  the  queen  bitch  from  homeroom.  at  this  point  i’m  only,  like,  FIFTY  PERCENT  sure  it’d  be  wrong  cause  i  haven’t  ruled  out  her  being  a  demon  sent  to  ruin  my  life.  ❞  maybe  that  was  a  bit  of  an  over-exaggeration.  it  was  more  like,  twenty  percent  she’s  a  literal  demon  from  the  underworld,  eighty  percent  just  your  CLASSIC  HIGH  SCHOOL  MEAN  GIRL  from  hell.  either  way  kat  needed  someone  more  reasonable  to  talk  her  down  before  she  took  a  swing  at  this  particular  personal  demon.        @feelsall
