I have a question, I made a feferi skirt using the pattern everybody uses, but whenever i put it on, either it's too big in the waist and its perfect at the bottom, or if I make it fit correctly the blue completely overlaps the green side.. Any suggestions on how to fix that? :<
I'm gonna need to more about the pattern you used. Did you make the triangles the same size about? Cause they can't be...uh...let me show you
See how different they are? the blue skirt's top width is about the length of half my waist (since it starts and ends at my sides.) what I did was measure my waist, and draw a straight line. Then I measured how far I wanted the sides to go down my leg and draw out that. Then I measure how long I wanted the point to go down to on the blue triangle and drew a dot that was however far down that measurement is (and about halfway through the waist measurement of the blue) then I drew the diagonal line. After that I cut out the pattern and laid it down on my large sheet of paper, and drew out what I'd want the green to look like relative to the blue, took the blue away and then finished the green and cut it out. But that way you can kind of get a rough idea of how the green should look...man I'm bad at explaining this :"D It'll look like this when you're drawing:
And then the width of the two tails should equal about half of your waist/hip measurement as well. Basically your blue side + the two tails will equal your waist, because the blue wraps all the way around. However, this all depends on the angles of the diagonals of your triangles.
Hoped this helped a bit, I'm just bad at explaining :"D
