There was something… peculiar about Ren’s final death when watched from Grian’s perspective.

Grian had been staring at the lighthouse for a few minutes, dead set on the idea someone was going to die. He turns away from the lighthouse for the first time in a while and says, “Well hang on, if they see us all watching—“ and it’s right after the word watching that Ren promptly explodes.

While setting the trap, Grian seemed oddly convinced that it’s going to take out a red name despite there not being very many. It’s a strange bit of intuition—or was it? Could he have seen it coming, drawn in a drop of that supernatural sense he’d been given to See more than he was supposed to?

Or perhaps, he was subtly influencing the world, in the way Watchers can’t help but to do. All of it in the form of sly curses or tricks on the mind. Quietly, covertly. A little suggestion here, a nudge to guide Ren’s path, it’s just too easy not to do. But Grian knows he can’t get caught doing these things (he’s a player, he keeps having to remind himself. He’s not a Watcher here. He’s just a normal player) and so he tries to pull back. He can’t be caught by Them.

It’s too suspicious if they see him watching.
