Christmas Market @ Felice Cafe
Just a week late... from Christmas :P but I visited a Christmas market at a cafe about a month ago. It was a wknd evening held at Felice Cafe, which is located in Stadium Yards. It's tucked in & on main floor of a condo in the area. Very, VERY easy to miss but it's cute!
According to their Instagram, they have weekly events - pop-ups, markets, talks, mini concerts.. . Since December is Christmas month, this wknd was dedicated to a small local market.
Once you enter, you'll be greeted by this view. The space they operate in is loft-style.
They have a pretty big corner (big to me anyway .. for a cafe) that displays/sells items from local designers. They're all about 'support local' here. Similar things as Makers, if you are familiar with that shop.
Stairs to go up to the 2nd floor, which is a much smaller space than the main floor.
Here's up the 2nd floor looks like. The walls are decorated with artwork from local artists. Tables & chairs are all a mix-match, which I find interesting.
The space is cute~
Okay now back onto the main floor for the market. This is a temporary set up but I assume every wknd where they have an event, this is the space that's used for the event.
More wall art by local artists.
TBH, I don't recommend coming here during the wknd when an event is happening. Without this space, seating is very limited. Parking is also not great. I think it's a cafe with nearby residents in mind as clientele.
I tried a drink that I've never seen on menus before: *drum roll* the juniper latte.
Ew.
This drink was veryyyy off for me. It smells like. .. a "forest" candle. o_O like those pine, forest, "Christmas scent" candles. You know what I mean? So in my mind, sipping this was like uhhh..... & then once I tried it.. . yup, confirmed. It's weird. Sweet but aftertaste was a little bitter. And .. pine-y. Not that I've tasted pine before. It doesn't seem like a flavour that should be consumed lol!! It was as if I was drinking a scent.
So now- you don't have to try it.
