JazzyCat Feline Rescue
We are dedicated to rescuing and caring for the brave and wonderful homeless cat with no one to treat his injuries or offer any form of care. Because there are so many unwanted cats, we promote the importance of spaying and neutering your cats. Our rescue takes in cats to get them fixed and find them homes. We also use the trap neuter return (TNR) program offered in most counties. We don’t have commercial sponsors or government grants and our costs are overwhelming. JazzyCat provides for all veterinary care, spay/neuter costs, medicine, food, shelter, towels and beds, scratching boards, toys for entertainment, and various other needs and unexpected medical emergencies. The costs of caring for these adoring feline friends are overwhelming and we need you. Your donations will benefit our sanctuary tremendously. No amount is too small. https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=7YDYL8EFP365A

Farmer Surprised After The Kittens He Found Turned Out To Be Something Else
Farmer Surprised After The Kittens He Found Turned Out To Be Something Else
One Russian farmer found four little kittens in his barn – or at least that’s what they seemed to be, until the man discovered the truth. The little fellows clearly needed his help to survive. Yet, they looked different than any other kittens the farmer had seen before. So, to identify what kind of care they needed, the man called the Daursky Nature Reserve, where they confirmed that these were…

Merlin's Hope Ragdoll Rescue Emergency Vet Fund
Our vet expenses this week have been astronomical and our vet fund is completely depleted. https://www.youcaring.com/merlin-s-hope-ragdoll-rescue-576737 We have three cats coming in Monday. We are not sure how much vetting they will need. Currently, we owe over $300 and that does not count today's visit (Friday). Peep's vet visit was over $150. We will have at least a $300 vet bill at the spay clinic on Tuesday. In short, we are broke. As usual, after Monday, our intake has to close until we can raise funds to care for the cats medically. Please note that Merlin's Hope is now 501c3 and all donations are tax deductible!
You can also use paypal if you'd like to donate directly and save them the agency fees... see this link for info - https://www.facebook.com/mhragdollrescue/?fref=nf
My life since I started work at the shelter in a nutshell: Wake up a half an hour earlier than needed, make lunch for work and breakfast if there is time. Feed Samson (my kitty) and give fresh water, clean up around the apartment due to spots of cat mess from room mate's kitties, make baby food for my foster kittens, clean kitten kennel. Leave for work, eat breakfast on drive if there is time, stop for coffee even if there isn't time because I'll need it. 45 minutes later arrive at work. Walk around shelter to find out what I missed happening. Likely find a suprise or seven. Check with everyone about the cats they're working with, get presented with several issues that need my attention. Clean cat rooms assigned, start laundry. Try to answer voicemails and get work done at desk, get asked to do 100 other things through the day. Field questions and make decisions. Get yelled at by people who don't understand what the shelter does or how we operate, or who just want their problems magically fixed in an instant. Give cats medication, scoop boxes through the day. Take surrenders, help adopters, counsel people to keep cats in homes. Do intake exams on cats that are surrendered and get them set up in intake quarantine, make notations for the vet and note behavioral and temperament issues in an effort to find a way to make the cat happy. Hopefully send an adoptable cat home with someone. Go around and close cat rooms. Count all cats to make sure no one is missing, make sure all cats have water and all kittens have food. Do PM meds, PM feedings, feed baby kittens. Go to my desk and stay late trying to get all voicemails answered and file some paperwork. Reach limit of hours I can work in a day and leave the overwhelming mountain of work on my desk for the next day. Realize I forgot to eat the lunch I made for myself in the chaos of the day. Am starving, drive home only thinking of eating dinner. Get home late. Notice room mate's cats have no water, wash out water dishes and give them fresh water. Clean kitten kennel again, kittens are messy. This time refresh litter box completely and wash out food and water dishes, give kibble and fresh water. Make baby food for foster kitten. Clean Samson's food and water dishes and give fresh water. Scoop Samson's box. Do chores and my own dishes. Eat mediocre dinner several hours after arriving home starving. Collapse in bed and have Samson and room mate's kitties demand attention. Pet adult kitties. Take kittens out of kennel for play and socialization time. Put kittens away, set alarm, sleep. Rinse, repeat. On a day off I usually get caught up on errands and sleep so I can manage the week. And people don't understand why I'm stressed and exhausted and never have the energy for anything. And that's just typical. If you want to hear the horror story day, I honestly can't emotionally handle telling you about it. But the perks? Helping kitties. Helping people. My life is cats.
