What languages does your OC speak? Are they fluent in them? Do they struggle when switching between dialects? (from @wandererxiv)

Alaria speaks common quite fluently, though she does have a bit of an accent! She does have trouble with a few dialects; her foray through Ishgard was quite challenging for her, for example!

She also learned bits and pieces of the Viis' language while she was in the First. They had some different words she'd never heard and she made a point to visit with and study some of the language.

She's spent an EXTENSIVE amount of time in Il Mheg, so she can curse you out in Fae, too!

Is D'lyhhia good at reading facial expressions and body language?

To... a degree. She's better at picking up things that could hint at aggression. Or maybe aware would be the better word. Either way, it's something she honed to keep herself safe during her travels. You never know who you're going to meet on the road, alone in the middle of nowhere with only you and your bird friend. They could be a kind adventurer like herself or someone looking to steal everything she has if not worse. But then she has been oblivious of an old friend having a crush on her, so... yeah.

Ooh this is a good one! and thank you for the question!

And... Aoife's really only had one big lie, which was lying about being elezen for much of her adolescence/young adulthood. Growing up as a viera in Ishgardian-held Coerthas was pretty unpleasant, and her elezen disguise provided cover so that she could go about her daily life safely.

it doesn't so much haunt her as she resents having had to lie about herself at all - having spent so much of her early life afraid of what others thought of her, and afraid of herself. Even after she stopped using the disguise, it took a long time for her to overcome her anxiety and learn to be comfortable around others. All of that was time she isn't getting back.

she's in a much better place mentally now, of course - she's living proudly as herself, and she doesn't spend so much time worrying about what others think of her. She's found connections with other viera, and surrounded herself with people who love her.

the years she lost to living in fear don't bother her anymore.

Malika would say she's an avid collector.

Others would call her a thief.

But it's both!

Collecting things is a defining Malika trait.

One of her (very numerous) problems is that she steals/collects things that remind her of the people she's stolen from. It's not always big, fancy, expensive items she takes. In fact, it's usually not.

It's a button from a new jacket a nervous man wore when he finally got the courage to ask a woman on a date. It's a low value Triple Triad card someone used to win or lose a big game she wasn't even involved in. It's a battered old compass a poor new adventurer used before his fortunes turned for the better (hopefully he used his money to buy a new compass or his fortunes might change again...).

She obsessively collects memories and connections with strangers. And she leaves some behind too. In place of the item she stole, she always leaves a random token behind in an attempt to leave a memory behind as well. Sort of like graffiti reading "I was here!" on their memory anytime they see the trinket.
