Felix Baumgartner cayó 120.000 pies y alcanzó 760 mph. Fue la primera persona en romper la barrera del sonido.

The man who shattered the sound barrier with nothing but a parachute and a will to fly. As part of the Red Bull Stratos project, he ascended to an altitude of 128,100 feet (approximately 24.2 miles or 39 kilometers) in a custom-built, pressurized capsule carried by a massive helium balloon.
The free fall lasted 4 minutes and 20 seconds. In that time, Baumgartner accelerated to Mach 1.25, or 843.6 mph, breaking the sound barrier without the aid of an aircraft, completed the highest human-crewed balloon flight, & achieved the longest distance free fall (over 119,000 feet)
Felix Baumgartner lived at a different altitude where fear meets discipline and the human spirit flies. His legacy will continue to inspire those bold enough to leap into the unknown.
FELIX BAUMGARTNER (1969-Died July 17th 2025,at 56). Austrian skydiver, daredevil and BASE jumper.He is widely known for jumping to Earth from a helium balloon from the stratosphere on 14 October 2012 and landing in New Mexico, United States, as part of the Red Bull Stratos project. Doing so, he set world records for skydiving an estimated 39 km (24 mi), reaching an estimated top speed of 1,357.64 km/h (843.6 mph), or Mach 1.25. He became the first person to break the sound barrier relative to the surface without vehicular power on his descent. He broke skydiving records for exit altitude, vertical freefall distance without a drogue parachute, and vertical speed without a drogue. Though he still holds the two latter records, the first was broken two years later, when on 24 October 2014, Alan Eustace jumped from 135,890 feet (41.42 km; 25.74 mi) with a drogue.
Baumgartner is also renowned for the particularly dangerous nature of the stunts he has performed during his career.
Baumgartner died on 17th July 2025, at the age of 56. He sustained fatal injuries during a paragliding flight in Porto Sant’Elpidio (Fermo), Italy. A sudden medical issue resulted in a loss of control with a subsequent fall into a swimming pool at the coastal resort.
