Made me love dinosaurs again. He added class & humanity to everything he appeared in.

The full rotation of the Moon as seen by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter.
The moon, the whole moon and nothing but the moon!
Astronaut Christina Koch explaining how they sleep in space.
"Earthshine.
Artemis II astronaut Christina Koch captured this video of Earth outside the windows of the Orion spacecraft during the second flight day of the mission. Orion was roughly 33,800 miles (54,500 km) away from Earth when @Astro_Christina took this video."

You are on my list of wonderful people to have dinner with. 🙂
The story of the Unicorn:
Everyone has seen Artemis from Sailor Moon, but I learned today about the unicorn. He’s sat under the Capcom sign in Mission Control.
His name is Eugene.
From Stan Love, lead Capcom (capsule commander) of Artemis 2:
Years ago, when the Orion spacecraft was part way through development, its hardware and software designs had so many flaws we wondered if it would ever fly. The joke in my office was “it’ll take a rainbow ninja unicorn to save Orion.” Jennifer bought the plushie, sewed its little ninja mask, named it, and kept it in the conference room as a humorous reminder of the importance of our work.
Sadly, Jennifer died young of cancer a few years ago. She can’t be in Mission Control to see Orion fly successfully around the Moon. But we put Eugene there to watch and cheer in her place.
Jennifer, you and Eugene made sure the Artemis crew made it home safe. Your rainbow ninja unicorn flew around the moon.
When you love your job & it shows
Christina Koch (mission specialist) gives the Orion spacecraft a big hug!
Mission Accomplished: Congratulations & Thanks!

Some of us have been waiting since 1972 for this view!
The crew of Artemis II were greeted this morning with a message from the late Apollo astronaut Jim Lovell, who flew aboard Apollo 8, the first mission to the Moon, and was the commander of Apollo 13, flying around the Moon in a free-return trajectory in a similar path to that followed by Artemis II. Though Lovell passed away last year, his spirit lives on in the heart of the Artemis program as we follow in his incredible footsteps.
Cherry Blossom Time in Japan
The sacred deer in Nara come with a few warnings. I was not present in Japan during the cherry blossom season but I did experience these wonderful deer...none of the warnings were pertinent the day I was there. ;)

A message from the last astronaut to walk on the moon to those who will be next. I wish he could have been around to see this.
