Royal Lover (open starter)

Felix had received an… interesting letter. The kings advisors were looking for a ‘royal master’, a suitable extramarital partner for the king. While in their kingdom it was not unusual, nor particularly frowned upon, for two men or women to be in a relationship, it was still expected for nobles and royals alike to marry their opposites. But the king been notoriously difficult with finding a queen, and so they thought that perhaps if they secured him a noble lover he would be less concerned who he was married to.

And, being the younger child and therefore not really needing to marry, it seemed like a perfect arrangement. Of course, as the letter detailed, he would be provided for plentifully, and would hold a respectable position in the kings court.

So that leads him to now. He knows several have received letters, so it is not assured he would be picked by the king. But he still makes the effort and arrives at the castle, escorted in discreetly to a small private wing, where a handful of other men are waiting. They are both native and foreign, dressed in varying degrees of formality, finery, and modesty. Really, the king has quite a selection to suit his desires.

Blind Date (open starter)

It was a blind date, set up by a friend who was rather invested in his love life. Not that he minded, really, he could do with the help in that department. It wasn’t impossible to meet people, but finding the time and the opportunity to approach them was different.

He’s nervous. Excited, yes, but buzzing in a way that makes you want to flee at any moment and avoid the whole situation. Still, the little cafe was nice, and it was early enough that there was no rush or expectation to return home. Just a relaxed, casual atmosphere that helped to quell some of the nerves.

From then til now (open starter)

They had been friends since they were kids, and they were practically inseparable. Where there was one, you’d soon find the other, and they’d usually be laughing to themselves and finding mischief.

But they were growing up and things were starting to change. Feelings were developing. More than just friendship. And he was entirely unsure what to do with that, because it had sort of hit him out of nowhere. Much like the rest of growing up, really, suddenly they were just a year away from graduating, and the uncertainty about where their friendship would go after that had made him realise his feelings. But he still didn’t know if it was reciprocated, and had no idea how to even approach that conversation without potentially ruining a life long friendship.

So... prom? (open starter)

He was going to ask them to prom. He was actually going do it.

He had a huge crush, a difficult thing to admit but it was obvious to everyone - well, almost everyone, the recipient of the feelings seemed entirely oblivious. He wasn’t sure if that was a gift or a curse.

They’d become close when they’d been assigned seats next to each other in class, and had begun to talk a little. The teachers could tell neither of the pair had many friends. And once some attention was given, he fell head-over-heels. So, as the finals were soon approaching, he had to make his move. It was now or never.

Bar Boy (open starter)

It was a bustling little tavern, popular for both its range of alcohols, it’s food, and the pretty young man who worked there. It had a few rooms above to rent out, usually for the night but sometimes longer, and if you were lucky and said the right things, he may just come to visit in the late hours of the evening.

Being on a through road between some larger cities, the people present in the tavern changed often. So Felix was always happy to welcome new faces, and he had no doubt that a few of the tipsy regulars would blabber about him, and by dinner time, he’d have plenty of conversations that alluded to an interest in his company. This particular evening, though, it was a little quieter, with big events occurring further south which meant most people had no time to stop by. That left him more time to chat with the new patrons, and one had particularly caught his eye.

New Kid (open starter)

He was a ‘safe’ option to help the new kid around for their first week. Being sociable, open, and friendly, and ending up sharing most of their classes, it was the most logical choice. And, due to his nature, it was no surprise when he agreed.

So there he waits, that Monday morning, waiting in the reception area for them to arrive. He was actually a little excited - it was always nice to meet new people, and if he could help someone feel more comfortable, then he would.

Personal Assistant (open starter)

It was a job he would be good at. That’s what he had thought when he applied to be a personal assistant. He was good with people, and that was really the main part of the job. And the tasks wouldn’t be so hard, it might be tiring and busy work but it could be done. And the benefits were amazing. Really, it was a no brainer.

And he had been invited to an interview. He was a little surprised, really, considering his lack of experience in this specific occupation, but he took the opportunity quite happily. So there he was, just waiting to be called into the office.

Bait (open starter)

The Magix was an inter-species club, hosting witches, wizards, vampires, werewolves and all other humanoid beings. It was famous as the best of its kind, and this reputation relied mostly on the fact that there was always entertainment. This was usually targeted at the vampires or werewolves, beautiful women and men showing off and dancing. It was a popular attraction.

Felix wasn’t entirely sure what had made him agree to be ‘entertainment’. It’s had been a spur of the moment decision when a promoter had given him a flier, and he wasn’t sure if he regretted it or was excited for it. It would definitely be easy work, dancing for a little while and taking turns to serve drinks. But was it safe work? Well he wasn’t sure of that - but maybe that’s what attracted him to begin with.
