DAY 2

HEALTH STATUS: Minor Cut on Forehead, Major Side Wound

ITEM STATUS: Bow and Arrow in tact, Small Pack contents in tact. 

COMPANY: None

LOCATION: East Jungle

IMMEDIATE PLAN OF ACTION: Find Water

Felix groggily sat up, his body aching. The wound in his side sent a shock of pain through his body. He winced, but pulled himself up. He looked into the sky, seeing that the sun was just rising. He had seen the faces of the dead tributes last night, and was incredibly glad that Tania wasn’t one of them. He hadn’t seen her at the Cornucopia, and he was so glad she was still around. Maybe he could find her and they could ally. But that was the least of his problems at the present moment. He had to find a source of water, and quickly. Felix slowly stood up, and looked around him. He looked to the east, where he was headed last night and saw endless jungle. He looked to the west, and saw the forest become thinner. He decided to climb higher. He slowly climbed, after last night he was going to be careful. He didn’t want to irritate his side wound more. He got up about 5 more feet, and finding mountains to the west. He was glad that he had turned around, that’s where he would be heading. He slowly scaled down the tree. And about a half an hour later, he touched the ground. He set off for the west, or what he thought was the west, hoping to find some water. He was now desperate.

THE TRAIN - Felix Hilaria and Livia Donovan

LOCATION- TRAIN

TIME- 1-2 PM. SHORTLY AFTER THE REAPING

His escort came into the room and led him to the outside of the building. They exited the Justice Building, and already the Capitol Reporters swarmed around them. They reached the car and entered. They drove a couple miles to the train station, where the climbed the stairs and entered the train. It was strange being inside a train for Felix, he had spent so much of his time repairing them. The door opened in front of him, and his earlier fascination with the Justice Building Room was blown out of the water. This room was beautiful. Silk chairs, Mahogany Tables, Everything you would ever need and more. He sat down, and waited. He didn’t really have a clue what he was supposed to be doing. He saw his fellow tribute walk into the room, along with his mentor and their escort. Did she have a mentor or did they share?

THE FINAL PARTING PART 2 || REAPING

Location: Justice Building

Time: Noon, Just after the Reaping

Felix fell back into the chair, letting all of the tears cooped up in his body escape him. He cried into his hands, and then he composed himself after a few minutes. He stood up and wiped himself off. He was done. He had no more grieving to do. Now he had to store his family into the depths of his mind. They were not important anymore, they were a distant memory. Now his duty was to survive. But he hadn’t escaped the grieving yet. The oak doors opened once more.

And in walked Demetrius, or what Fex called him, Demetri. The boy walked in emotionless. The doors closed behind him. He stood silently. “Hi Demetri…………………….” Fex said shyly. It had been extremely awkward for the last week or so. He and Demetri were best friends. They talked about everything and anything together. The week previous to the reaping, they snuck out one night to lay in one of the fields next to the Hovercraft Landing pad. It was far into the night, and the boys had stumbled on the topic of sexuality, and Fex revealed he wasn’t only interested in girls. “I think I might like guys too……..” Felix stuttered, unsure of the reaction of his best friend.

“I…… I feel the same way.” Demetri said. They slowly turned their heads to look at each other. They looked into each other’s eyes, and they knew. They slowly leaned in, and shared an innocent and passionate kiss. He shook his head, that moment changed everything.  And not for the better. Demetri’s face fell. “Fex…………..” He trailed off, walking towards him. They embraced. “I’m going to miss you so much.” Demetri said, sniffling himself.  Fex pulled away, and again, their eyes met. It was the same look they shared that night. The night where their relationship had changed. Fex was leaving, and leaving to fight to the death. Would he take that chance? Yes.

Fex started to lean in, never breaking eye contact with Demetri. “No……..” Demetri said his face turning. He pushed Fex away. “No…….. I don’t do that. That’s wrong” Demetri said with his face down. He couldn’t even look at him now. “So I’m wrong Demetri! You’re lying. You knew that felt right.” Fex said his eyes tearing. His throat was choking up. He couldn’t speak. He would not let himself cry. He would not seem weak in front of this boy who was changing right in front of his eyes.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have come” He said, his tone instantly becoming cold. He stormed out, the Peacekeepers confused. They had always had to come and get the visiting party. Showed the kind of guy Demetri had become. Felix sat down, and his desire to cry had left. He would not mourn Demetri; he had shown his true feelings. Fex walked over to the mirror and wiped the moisture off of his face with his t-shirt. He looked at his face. He saw a young boy who was destined to die. He would never get to fall in love, never get to have a family, he was practically already gone.

THE FINAL PARTING PART 1 || REAPING

Location: Justice Building

Time: Noon, just after Reaping

The whole of District 6 stood silent, watching the freshly reaped tributes go off to their inevitable death. And Felix was one of them. “Well, let us congratulate this fine young man and woman who will be representing District 6! Let’s give them a hand!” The pixie like woman belted. This woman, Livinia Weston, was going to be the District 6 Escort. Felix and Titania were going to have to deal with her presence daily. And in all honesty, Felix wasn’t sure if he could take that. The audience lay silent, and gave each of them sympathetic looks. But no matter how much they wanted to stop this, to take them back. They couldn’t. That was the cruelty of the Capitol.

Livinia shoved Titania and Felix into the Justice Building. She moved incredibly fast. He figured since she was so much shorter than the general populous, she had to move faster to keep up. “Come along, children! We have so much to do!” She squeaked happily.  She led Fex to a room in the building, the room in which he would be saying goodbye to his loved ones. His last goodbye. He didn’t know if he was ready for that. Felix sat in the closest chair in the lavish room, anxiously awaiting his family. Suddenly, the door burst open. His family, who were all huddled together, slowly came into the room.

But one broke apart, his younger sister Posie.  Posie was only 8, and she didn’t fully understand the concept of the Games. She walked up to Felix, and hugged his legs. “I’m sad that you have to go, Fexy. But I know you can win! You run so fast! That’s what the game is right? That’s what mommy and daddy said.” She said, smiling up at him. Her big, blue eyes shone at him. Those innocent eyes that shone with hope and happiness. A tear escaped his eyes. He kneeled on his knees. “Yeah baby girl, that’s all it is. I’ll try and come home soon, okay? And then we can play all the time, all you want” Felix smiled. He sniffled. This girl was all that he cared about in the world. Felix took her into an embrace, sniffling. He couldn’t cry, not now. Not in front of her. She’d know something was wrong.

Felix stood, wiping his eyes, and his mother came forward. She hugged him with all of her might. This might be their last hug, and she was making it last. She sobbed into his shoulder, and then composed herself. She pulled away and grabbed his shoulders. “Listen to me Fex” she said, wiping her eyes. “You can do this. I know you can. You’re so fast, and you’re so smart. You just have to grab a bow and you’ll be fine!” She said, beginning to sob again. This process broke his heart. He couldn’t take much more of it.  It was breaking him apart.

Finally his father came forward. His father, so steady, so stern, so powerful. Fex had always gone to him for guidance, for support. His Father was crying almost as heavily as his mother. And that’s when Fex broke. Tears streamed down his face. He hugged his father tight, crying into his shoulders like he did when he woke up from nightmares when he was little. He composed himself.  He stood steadily. He had to be strong, no one else could be. “I love you all so much, okay? Don’t ever forget that.” He said. Looking at each and every one of his family members. His father stepped forward, and handed him a gold chain with a silver plate on it. “This necklace belonged to your Grandfather. He gave it to me, and now I’m giving it to you. Let it be your token?” He asked. Fex tackled him, and an awkward mixture of laughing and crying was heard. The Peacekeeper entered the room. “Your time is up” He said emotionlessly. Fex stepped back, and he watched as his family was dragged back. This was the last time he would ever see them.

Felix on a Search

LOCATION: Jungle

TIME: 1-2 in the afternoon

TAGGED: Felix Hilaria

Felix jumped up; awake from the horrible dream that had crept into his mind. His body was in a cold sweat, and pain shot up his side. He winced, and slowly got up. He had fallen into a light sleep, and he was glad he was awake now. Who knows what could have happened while he was asleep? A bear could have come and mauled him, another tribute could have found his hiding spot, and he was going to have to become a lot more careful. Felix carefully climbed out of the tree stump, and walked over to wear he had made his bandage. He slowly unzipped his jumpsuit, and pulled down the top, revealing the bandage. Felix slowly and carefully took off the bandage. The bleeding had stopped, but the wound was beginning to turn a bright red. Felix knew this wasn’t a good sign. He quickly managed to create another bandage, and fastened it back onto the wound. He looked around him, clutching his bow in his right hand. He began to walk deeper into the forest, hoping he’d find some water, maybe some food.

Run away little lamb, run away from the slaughter

HEALTH STATUS: Cut on forehead, severe gash on side.

ITEM STATUS: Bow and Arrow in tact. Backpack in tact

COMPANY: None

IMMEDIATE PLAN OF ACTION: Stop wounds from bleeding.

Felix stumbled into the jungle, finally away from the horrors of the Blood Bath. He hadn’t really realized all of the progress he had made. I mean, he did pretty alright for the fact that he was from District 6. He had accomplished everything he had desired, and more. He had grabbed his bow and a pack! But he had also gotten a pretty fatal gash to his side. Vita had done a very good job, and her training had paid off. But not for Felix. He was still shocked; she could have easily killed him right then and there. Why didn’t she? The jungle became increasingly darker the farther he went in, and the more sounds of animals far away could be heard. The trees were very strange, and the ground was mossy, and damp. Maybe he could use some of the materials around him? He hoped so, because this adrenaline was wearing off and the wound on his side was beginning to ache.

He slowly lowered himself down onto a log, and took the small pack off of his pack; it was time to see what its contents had to offer. He zipped it open and found a water bottle. He excitedly unscrewed the cap, only finding an empty cavity. His face quickly fell, and he then pulled out a wad of cotton. This may help with one of his wounds. His forehead. He sighed; this was just getting worse and worse. But then, bingo. Sharp metal darts appeared. These would be useful to him. He put them into his sheath, and then looked at his surroundings.  Vines hung on the trees, there was deep moss all around, and there were logs all around him. He would now begin to try and fashion some kind of bandage. He grabbed one of the darts, and began to saw a vine off of the trees. His wound began to hurt badly. He bit the inside of his mouth, and kept working.

He ripped the vine off of the tree, and that obviously aggravated his side. He was almost done. He grabbed one of his arrows, in need of a flatter blade. He began to saw a sturdy piece of bark off of the log he sat on. He threw that into a pile with the vine. He looked at the floor, and then cut a piece of moss away. He held it up in the light, and took a good look at it. He remembered this from Edible Plants………….. Was it blood moss? He had learned it wasn’t edible, but it was very absorbent. Perfect for the task at hand. Felix slowly began to unzip his tight jumpsuit, revealing the wound in its entirety.

Thank god it wasn’t too deep, but it was bleeding profusely. And it was ugly. Even if the suit managed to absorb some of the blood. Felix quickly piled moss onto the wound. It hurt incredibly, but he pushed on. He then took the piece of bark and forced it upon the gash. Finally, he took the vine and wrapped it around his torso and tied it. Felix hoped that would be good enough until he could find something that could be more of use to him. He zipped back up his jumpsuit, the sleek material now not fitting as well over his makeshift bandage.

But there was much more to do. He needed to build a shelter, and he couldn’t climb. He had to make one on the ground. Felix looked around, and in finding a large tree stump, he began work. He slowly climbed into the trunk, and he began the process of covering the top. He took branches, pieces of bark, vines, anything he could find to conceal himself. He crawled beneath the tiny shelter, and he sat, waiting for what was in store. He took the was of cotton, and began to wipe away the blood on his forehead, hoping soon it would clot. He had survived the Blood Bath. He would walk out of the first day alive.
