Dante has always considered himself to be straight and has vehemently defended this concept, even against his own obsessive thoughts being shifted onto Felix Hearst. He loathes it, but as interest in Tally wanes, he forces himself to continue stalking her, only to find himself distracted at public functions that Felix attends, as well. This may cause Felix to be utterly oblivious to Dante's mere existence, but this decommissioned police officer is watching, in spite of wanting to remain loyal to Tally (who also does not register his affections.)
Eventually, it will dawn on Dante that the problem is Felix himself, and a problem can only be solved by getting rid of him. He drugs a glass of champagne, waits for the effect, and lures him to the outdoors before pushing him into the back of his car. A simple plan, but once Felix begins to stir is where the difficulties and conflicts grow.
