Open Starter

Rayla hadn’t been watching her footing, sure she knew to be careful when free running like this through the trees, but in a downpour of rain vision became limited and usually safe foot placements became a lot more dangerous than usual.

It was easy to imagine the young assassins surprise when her foot had slipped clean off a branch sending her down to the sodden ground bellow, scraping herself up on branches as she fell and ending it all with colliding into the trees routes, effectively bruising her side and knocking the wind from her lungs.

Fragmented Trust

I could see fragments of myself in my reflection

Covered by a plastic façade built for my protection

Cheaply made to guard the glass that lies beneath the surface

Designed to endure and look pretty, and I must say that it serves its purpose

What lies beneath is fragile and delicate

But oh my are the splashes of color and personality elegant

If admired properly, the glass is worth more than money could buy

Worth more than I could possibly manage to imply

But we live in a world of Neanderthals and ignorance

Who mask their rigorous behavior by calling it innocence

But there is nothing innocent in breaking what isn't property

There is nothing childlike about intentionally handling emotions improperly

Now I look in my reflection, to only see myself cracked within my casing

And I stand before myself searching for my parts that others are continuously misplacing

My shell is cracked, my glass is only left to be broken shards

What good is protection, if you're trusting enough to let down your guard?
