I get wool sweaters (and sometimes scarves) at thrift stores then felt them in the washing machine at home. They range in price, also cause some are larger (have more material) then others making them more bang for the buck. Some sweaters I have got for a few dollars, others cost me ~$15. on average I pay $7 per sweater (for what equates to about 1/3 yard - 3/4 yard of fabric depending on the size) because I usually refuse to pay more then $12 for one to keep things in budget. Cute striped sweater is hard to find and I often have to troll ebay / etsy for them (and pay extra for it). The best of course is cashmere sweaters (so soft!) but they are harder to find and cost more then average online. I snap them up when I find them at goodwill. Also not every wool sweater I come across at a thrift store is useable, they have to be soft (no gross itchy sweaters) and not too thick a weave (to felt up nicely / not be too thick to sew), and be a nice color of course!

Stayed up late to finish him - Eeeee I dub the pattern a success! Gotta think of a name for this creature. It's supposed to be a fox of some kind.
Takes a lot longer then it looks...with all those appliques on the back, and hand-sewing work to attach the face, bottom, from legs, and tail (which to stand out properly I didn't sew into the back seam). When doing the tail again I'll do the fur fluff different, how I did it was a pain in the butt.
The face if you missed the in progress info is cast resin. I'm going to remake the mold tho, it was a rushed mold done as an example for a friend, and has some imperfections :)
