YOU WILL NEED:

whatever yarn color you want! this project does NOT need a lot of yarn

an appropriately sized hook for said yarn! (i like to go 1-1.5 mm smaller than recommended on the packaging for amigurumi like this)

a darning/tapestry needle to close up the bottom!

optional: scissors + black/white felt + glue to attach accessories (will not be including instructions for that, just attach to look like the subsitute doll)

Whale (Medium) Free Pattern

This pattern is untested, please let me know if you spot any issues! I tend to write down the pattern to everything I freehand, and wanted to share those with y'all!

It is super beginner friendly, using only basic stitches and a colour change. Also no sew!

The pattern itself is handwritten, but I'll type in a couple notes where necessary. I will not be listing all terminology + materials since this more of working notes than an official pattern, but most of it is self explanatory! Yarn: HILUSH Blanket Yarn in Blue and White Hook: 8mm

Happy holiday season, friends! It's been a while. Truth be told, I haven't been doing much weaving lately... it's been a perfect storm of lack of time and low motivation for the project on my loom right now, but we'll get back there eventually. Maybe now that time's come back some, just maybe I'll find some scraps of motivation to get that little band off my loom, finally. Not much weaving doesn't mean I haven't been crafting though! I learned how to make these no-sew star ornaments this year!

They take a bit of getting used to methods-wise, but they make such fun little gifts to spread some holiday cheer. And really, they could be for anyone. I gave some to my professors, a couple of my friends, and some assorted other folks. It's just a small thing, but in a world that's been so dreary and bleak lately, I think everyone needs a little bit of holiday magic, don't you?
