"Sei!" a child's voice, that of a girl, echoed amidst the loud noise of the great hall of the Crimson Manor. A young girl of six, wearing a dress of baby blue and white, the colour of her House, ran along the wide hall towards the huge door the moment it opened. Her dress was rather thin for the frigid climate in the northern kingdom of Rakuzan but the hot springs running under the castle was enough to warm her up. "Sei! You're back!" she exclaimed as she tackled a boy two years older than her, temporarilu forgetting every mannerisms her lady grandmother taught her.
"We just saw each other two days ago, Tetsumi," Sei replied with a smile on his young face as he wrapped an arm around her to steady her, his delighted expression contradicting his words. Snowflakes were melting on his fire-kissed hair and his eyes were a vivid crimson, reminding Tetsumi of the ruby stone her grandmother owned. He looked a bit exhausted -a result from the two days he spent with his king father and cousin hunting on the woods.
A pout formed on Tetsumi's face as she pulled away from him. "I don't care. I was bored without you here. I mean, my handmaidens aren't boring but I can't stand stitching and singing and gossiping all day long. And Ryo-chan is always out playing with the blacksmith's son and they won't let me join. And then-" she was cut short when Sei placed a finger on her lips to silence her.
"I get it. You prefer me over everyone else," the Akashi heir and crowned prince of the northern kingdom teased, amusement in his vivid crimson orbs when she blushed furiously.
Tetsumi snubbed him, managing to do it in a childish yet graceful manner. "Huh, don't be so full of yourself, Your Grace. I might be missing Taiga-kun and not you," she haughtily said.
Sei pinched her nose fondly which had her glaring at him. He laughed. "So that's why you came running into my arms first, and not Taiga's," he sarcastically said which earned him another glare from her. "Real smooth, Lady Tetsumi."
With a dainty laugh, Tetsumi curtseyed. "Excellent, Your Grace," she mockingly praised. "You know very well that you're my most favourite person here in Rakuzan, my Seijuurou."
"Even in the whole of Seirin and Teiko?" he asked, his expression was so uncertain and hopeful at the same time, it almost made her laugh. Again.
She stepped closer to him and standing on tippy toes, she whispered in his ear, "Don't let anyone know."
