Rather unexpectedly, Lucera & Alicent’s relationship really compels me. Looking forward to how you explore them in C&BC, and also modern day.
I'm glad you mentioned this, because I am also excited to write about the dynamic. So far we've seen Jace & Alicent's relationship, which is about as good as a daughter/mother-in-law relationship can be.
Luce & Alicent are obviously not going to have the same kind of relationship, though. Alicent was probably hoping for all three of her future daughters-in-law to be close to the Westerosi ideal of a lady, but Luce (and Joff, eventually) doesn't fall into that mold. It also doesn't help that Luce probably reminds Alicent of young Rhaenyra, which gives Alicent a lot of ~feelings~.
There's also the fact that Alicent was present to witness Aemond's breakdown after the Letter. Not the same as Luce physically slashing out Aemond's eye like in canon, but Alicent can't possibly have nice feelings or memories about that event.
As for modern day…we'll see what happens in A Very Hullmark Yule! And I eventually want to write a few spinoffs for Love Actually, so we may get to see some Luce & Alicent interactions there too.
