What if…Fem!Sinestro had never told Hal about their children?
Hal growls as he chases Sinestro through Qward’s atmosphere, keeping an eye out for any unexpected attacks. So far other members of the ‘Sinestro Corps’ have avoided getting involved in this fight. So far. And now within the depths of their territory, an admittedly stupid move, if they decide to overwhelm him, he’s fucked. So far though they’re leaving the fight purely to Sinestro.
A construct slams into him from behind, Hal crashes into the wall of a base. Before he can regain his balance Sinestro is on him, a yellow construct knife at his throat and an arrogant jibe on her lips. It’s only the sudden question that freezes both of them.
“Momma, what are you doing?” asks a little girl.
“Aya, go back to the safe room now!” Sinestro orders, alarm crossing his former friend’s face. “Why aren’t you with your brother?”
“He smells poopy and is crying and Lyssa isn’t there any more and I don’t know how to change a diaper,” Aya says, shrugging small shoulders. “Who’s that?” she asks, pointing at a stunned Hal.
“You’re father,” Sinestro says calmly, slamming her fist against Hal’s temple, knocking him out.
He’s a dad?

Hal wants to vomit as he wakes up, dizzy from what’s probably a concussion. It takes him a bit to remember what had happened. The invasion, fighting Sinestro, crashing into the Qwardian building, a little girl calling Sinestro ‘Momma’ and Sinestro’s almost casual…
“Oh shit,” he breathes, eyes snapping open.
He has a kid. He has a daughter that he never even knew about. Sinestro hid the fact they have a fucking kid together. She’s been hiding that for years (and Hal doesn’t want to think about what must have happened when Thaa-Sinestro was stuck in the Central Power battery). How the hell she’d managed to do that Hal isn’t sure of, but she had.
And their little girl had said…did she say something about a brother? He bites back a feeling of jealousy. He doesn’t have any right to feeling that. If Sinestro had gotten involved with someone else and had a kid with them he doesn’t have any right to be jealous of that. He does, in his opinion, have the right to be pissed over having his daughter hidden from him. He would have liked to know he had a kid!
“Oh good, you’re awake. I didn’t think I hit you that hard in the head,” Sinestro says, drawing his attention to where she sits. “You have a rather thick skull anyway. I doubt I would do much damage to begin with.”
“You hid that we have a daughter from me?” Hal demands, only now noticing the collar around his neck and the cuffs around his wrists. “What the hell Sinestro?!?!”
“You didn’t need to know,” she says coldly. “As far as Aya is knows you don’t want her and don’t care about her. Martin will know the same thing when he’s older, unless you do exactly what I say.”
Martin…Hal chokes, realizing that Aya’s little brother must be his too. And, and Sinestro named him after his Dad? Why would she do that? Why wouldn’t she tell them about their kids? Why would she lie to Aya?
You don’t want her and don’t care about her. Martin will know the same thing when he’s older unless you do exactly what I say.
If he says no he really will have abandoned them. Hal knows it doesn’t endanger them, but…but what would his Dad have done in this situation? Would he have abandoned Hal?
“Okay,” Hal says, shutting his eyes behind his mask.
“Okay?”
“Okay, I’ll do what you want.”
“Good boy Hal.”
