This March, we celebrate National Women’s Month by honoring the women who continue to redefine architecture. Female architects are not only shaping skylines but also reshaping perspectives, breaking barriers, and leading conversations about sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation in the built environment. Through their creativity, leadership, and technical excellence, they continue to elevate the architecture profession and inspire future generations of designers. The Fulgar Architects family is also saluting women around the world beyond the architecture field. We express our deepest gratitude to grandmothers, mothers, and all women who have nurtured, supported, and shaped families and communities. This includes those who have embraced motherhood in all forms, regardless of gender, showing that care, strength, and guidance come in many beautiful expressions. Your contributions make our world stronger and more meaningful. To all women everywhere, we celebrate your resilience, compassion, and power to inspire change. This month is a reminder that the world is built not only through structures and cities, but through the strength and heart of women who continue to shape our future with grace, courage, and purpose. ✨

However, there are women in architecture careers, who are challenging every day the profession's boys' club and have made a profound impact
As with many fields of work and art in the history of humankind, architecture was always seen to be the exclusive domain of men. Yet women architects are by no means a novelty, and many have risen through the ranks to become highly admired for their work. Women in architecture have always had to try harder than their male counterparts to stick out, and maybe that’s why the quality of their work is so high.
Norma Sklarek had become the first licensed African American female architect in New York and California, passing the exam on her first try.
It’s Valentine’s Day again, but we know the predictable roses and chocolates might leave MCM fans feeling blasé. So as our Valentine’s Day treat, we thought we’d turn your attention to—what else?—great design. Verner Panton’s Heart Cone Chair is as memorable and enduring as it is innovative.
