WOMEN'S BATTLE FOR SUFFRAGE

Women were denied the right to vote until 1920, half a century after African Americans were given the right to vote in 1870. Their struggles for female suffrage ultimately paid off and contributed to a sense of overall female power that was only expanded upon throughout the 1920's.
