just recently been thinking of doing a that 70′s show au. ive considered it in the past but just started thinking more on it.
so this would be a bakudabi fic where baku would be in the position of jackie and dabi is in hyde’s spot.
so this just copies the premise of the show, where theres a friend group who hangs out together, mainly in Shiggys basement. thinking about things, that 70s show is just friends but with teenagers in Wisconsin. huh, never really saw it like that before but it makes sense...
anyways, the LOV are 3rd years in high school and were friends who grew up together in their neighborhood. they will often go to hang out at shiggys place because his family has a really big basement to hangout in. shiggys adopted dad would really like for him to become motivated and do something but shiggys way more concerned with playing video games. AFO isnt like Red who will yell at shiggy, he will mostly let shiggy do as he likes and hes hired kurogiri to tend to shiggy. kurogiri is really good at baking things and will always have snacks on hand for the LOV to enjoy. Lot of mom energy from kurogiri
ll probably think more about the groups friend dynamics later because i wanna get into the bakudabi stuff now, i am putting waay too much energy into this world building when i just wanna see bakudabi
shiggy is a bit of an aspiring delinquent. he doesnt wanna be a good boy in school since he hates having to study and listening to teachers and he wants to be the bancho (delinquent leader in the school) so that he can rule over the school. hes currently not super high in the hierarchy though and so he decides to get his group a new recruit. the LOV dont mind supporting him in being a bancho since they all are considered the schools problem children. but since AFO is a major contributor to the school, they cant do much against shiggy and his group. and so shiggy hears of a first year who was a renowned delinquent during middle school. although baku isnt exactly what shiggy expects, since despite bakus baggy pants and loud attitude his is one of the top students and seems to follow the rules.
but shiggy disregards all that because hes sure that this kid will join them. so he drags baku to an empty room in school that the LOV have claimed as their base so that he could try to convince baku to join them. while the others seem to be mildly supportive of baku joining them, dabi seems to be pretty against it cause he definitely thinks that baku is about to punch shiggys lights out.
baku rejects their offer and stomps out. shiggy cant figure out why, dabi unhelpfully points out that it might be because shiggy tied up baku to capture him and dragged him to some secluded classroom in school. but no, shiggy thinks, that definitely cant be the reason.
baku eventually does begin to start hanging out with the LOV because deku runs to him and tries to rescue him from them when he hears that baku has been dragged away (but baku had already gotten away by the time deku arrives) dekus insistence that baku not hang out with the LOV has the opposite effect and baku angrily joins the LOV to spite deku.
shiggy is quite happy with this development and welcomes baku with open arms, everyone else is cautiously happy and dabi is against. when baku hangs out with them though, its become the opposite of what shiggy expects and instead of doing delinquent things, baku has started forcing them to properly go to class and do their homework. now they all want baku to leave and dabi is all smug in knowing how this was all going to end terribly all along. shiggy does not appreciate the know it all attitude
eventually though baku goes through a period where he likes dabi (will figure out the reason for this later) and aggressively pursues dabi to which he is coldly rejected but one night dabi finally caves and goes on a tiny date with baku and they share a kiss
dabi feels fireworks and is kinda ready to go out with baku now until baku kinda goes “huh, i didnt feel anything” and so dabi shoves his new found feelings way down deep and says he didnt feel anything either. but he did. he felt many things. poor baby
and so they go through a period where they are just friends and baku has really been a positive influence on the LOV (much to their dismay)
one night though, as all the LOV go out for the weekend to some place and baku and dabi stay home, all of a sudden SPARKS! they are making out on the couch
now they are cute couple power couple. no one can oppose them! mwahahahaha and baku will often sit in dabis lap casually
some miscellaneous things
i might make this a fembaku kind of fic and have baku be a cheerleader like jackie is in the show
or maybe hes the star of the basketball team, either way baku is very big in school and popular
