3. favorite POV (first/second/third/etc)

it kind of depends on the kind of writing that I am doing. for fic, I almost exclusively write in the first person (i’m trying to think of anything i’ve written fic wise in the third person and I can’t think of even one thing right now). that’s pretty common I think, most of the fic that I read is first person, which is probably why the whole idea of POV (character wise, I mean) changes is so pervasive in fic, while it isn’t as common in published stories. 

when I am writing original stories, I kinda switch between first person and third person depending on the particular story. as a reader I think that first person for the sake of first person can be grating, so I try and write in third person for longer works, unless there is a concrete reason not to. it’s something that I am working on.

(also, I like how this question has ‘etc’ after first, second and third. are there more? what is fourth person? I wanna know!)

5. what inspires you to write?

good question! 

again this is different for different kinds of stories. for fic, I am most often inspired by (obviously) the actual canon, or a lot of the time my fandom friends or fandom interactions. 

for original stories, I still sometimes write for friends. but more often, the inspiration is something inside me that is really hard to describe. when I am talking to people I know irl I often simplify it and say ‘I’m just trying to get all the stories inside my head to live somewhere else’, but that isn’t really quite right. the stories in my head would go away all by themselves if I left them alone for long enough. 

I guess the idea is to keep the stories, because I left them alone they would fade away and be forgotten. so when I think of something beautiful, or funny, or interesting, I write it into a story, so it doesn’t get lost.

12. what’s your favorite place for writing resources?

like, pens and shit? uh.

I don’t really write on paper anymore, I write on my laptop.

although let me tell you if you write fic and get people to beta it often then you should use Google Docs because it’s version of track changes is A+ and makes it so easy to edit someone’s edits. srsly. check that shit out.

so I just watched an early version of Everything Wrong With Carmilla Season 2 and I don’t want to spoil anything but lemme just say it is pretty damn amazing :D
