Just saw Diary Of A Teenage Girl: an honest, original, special, funny & raw portrait of a teen girls coming of age story. Not sure if I cried at the end because the star of the film looks like she could be my little sister or because the film reminds me of so many things I faced as a teen girl: bad decision making, putting myself in precarious situations, no one looking after me or paying attention, experimenting with drugs, finding my sexuality, feeling somewhere between being a woman & a little girl still, mother daughter competition, intense emotional hormonal surge overloads, creepy lurker letchey loser dudes who came onto me that i look back on now & cringe thinking about, and all the while being lucky enough to have what I imagine were guardian angels making sure I didn't die or get raped along the way; after many wild nights on my journey towards becoming who I thought I wanted to be. This is for all the girls who have grown up. You'll see yourself in this beautiful, touching, psychedelic movie. And you'll cry like I did...
