Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman on the TV always makes me happy. Especially when they go on about the 'Feminum' bracelets.
Me
"Amazonium", the metal from which Wonder Woman’s bracelets are made, was renamed "Feminum" in the 70’s tv series.
A fun fact about Wonder Woman...
I've been watching the 70's Wonder Woman tv show featuring Lynda Carter. Like any show, Wonder Woman has its ups and downs. The pilot was great, second episode not so great, etc. They introduce Donna Troy "Drusilla" as Wonder Girl in the fifth episode, which isn't a good sign. C'mon guys, there's plenty of stories you can tell about Wonder Woman without bringing in another character.
In this fifth episode, the Nazis are trying to get a hold of Wonder Woman's bracelets because it can deflect bullets. "Imagine! Bulletproof planes! Tanks!!"
Pictured above: Badass Lady not about to let that happen.
The greatest thing about this episode is the metal is revealed to be: Feminum. Yep, that's a metal that derives its awesome strength from... femininity? They don't really go beyond saying the name.
After checking Wonder Woman's Golden Age appearances/backstorys, there is no mention of this neat fun fact. Is it something the show made up? Who knows. They have a weird tendency to follow the comics (see: costumes, characters) yet make up stuff as they go along (see: 'Drusilla' as Wonder Girl even though they got her costume right).
Feminum. Badass name, or 70's cheese? I couldn't stop laughing at first, but it works with Wonder Woman. It makes me, in a weird sense, proud that they seem to get aspects of the character that today's audience misses.
feminum answered your question: Can we just take a moment and acknowledge that I've been getting "better"?
I’ve only followed for 2 weeks. You seem very upbeat.
Thank you. I'm glad somebody actually responded to this. Wasn't sure if people just disagreed or the timing of my post was off and not many followers even saw it.
I will admit that if you go back to around March and December, specifically, you would see a much more depressed individual. But it's all about baby steps, right?
