Yesterday I was with a group of friends and one girl was talking and she said she cried in the hallway after art because the art teacher blew up at her in front of the class for not taking his comment about the art she had excitedly shown him and he had criticized the right way or something like that. Then she said after the end of the day 3 boys snapchatted her and asked her why she was crying and if she was on her period. All of us sitting there got mad and rolled our eyes and started talking at once:
“Why do boys feel like they have the right so say that?”
“That’s none of their business”
“It makes me so mad when boys do that.”
“It’s like they’re saying that our emotions aren’t valid and we’re probably overreacting because we’re on our period.”
“I’m actually less emotional on my period.”
Asking a girl if she is on her period is never ok, especially if it’s because she was upset about something. It is absolutely none of anyone else’s business and we hate it when people do this.
