This literally happened today
Me: So I'm going to make an Akatsuki cosplay.
Friend: [not a Naruto fan, knows a little about it] For who?
Me: Y'know how I'm dyeing my hair red one my 18th birthday?
Friend: Yeah.
Me: I'm making a femSasori cosplay.
Friend: You need to come in in that cosplay on your birthday!

And that is the story of how we decided I was going to cosplay on my birthday.
Today's Random Realization
Since I'm saving money for a full Akatsuki cosplay, I never planned which Akatsuki I should actually cosplay as when I get said cosplay. Then it dawned on me. I'm dying my hair crimson for my 18th birthday. Crimson hair+short+long hair+full Akatsuki cosplay= I'm going to cosplay as femSasori. You can't stop me. I will become the puppet master.
