Musical Insp. 1 / 2
This is just the lineart and a really shitty lazy colouring bc I’m overwhelmed with work right now and real art is hard. I’ll hopefully eventually get around to colouring it fully, but probably not soon with being so busy. Both songs are from Fen’s POV not, Thy’s.
So, last time Fen was mentioned was back in this post, and as things always tend to go with my friend @clocksoutofspace and I, the story became a full blown plot and is now fully canonized in Thy’s main path.
Fen, himself, goes by the name Aradhelon in this ‘verse (the tabletop story arc is basically our happy au at this point lmao). He joins the Inquisition basically right around the time it forms, and- wow, there is so much backstory I don’t even know where to start. To make it not complicated, much to Solas’s dismay (and abject horror, if we’re being honest) Fen is one of his spy’s and the leading head of his main army which should be a good thing, only Fen has the tact of a doornail and isn’t a fan of lies. He also doesn’t exactly like Solas and legit showed up just to yell at him for fucking up. Thank god he speaks a different dialect of Elvhen.
Anyway, he basically forces his way into the Inquisition by way of power/influence, and because they will honestly accept any support at this point. Thy and Fen become exceptionally close, Fen finding the way Thy is treated to be utterly abhorrent and wanting to protect him, while Thy is honestly just willing to cling to anyone who looks like they care. They sort of end up developing this father/son relationship that is honestly the purest, fluffiest shit I have ever seen oh my god.
However, as you can likely suspect, this story doesn’t end well. With Fen being a loyal spy and general, he has no choice but to side with Solas in Trespasser because that’s what he believes is right. As such, he leaves with him through the Eluvian in the final confrontation. He, of course, has full intentions to return to Thy later and convince him to come home with him, to live happily and cared for by him and his wife. When he does return to the Inquisition though, it’s to find out that Thy had passed away, to bodily weak and to stricken with grief from his betrayal to survive through the mark.
There’s a few more horrible things that happen after this point, but that’s for another post! :D
The songs basically cover both the sad and happy parts of their relationship. The first, for the end of the story, when everything is over. The second, for when Fen was being a hardcore dad and just loving his kid.
