Color meanings: The designer picked the blue-purple color since it’s an ambiguous color (represent nonbinary) and its a nontraditional color for an element. The classic Chinese elements are fire, earth, wood, metal, and water. The colors for these are traditionally red, yellow, green, white, and black respectively. Hence, wind/air isn't considered one of the elements in Chinese culture, and blue and purple aren't used as traditional colors.

im chinese n nonbinary, and i would like to claim fengender, if thats okay? im sorry, this is my first time doin something like this aha. so, for a flag, i think a simple pastel blue-purple background, and the character for wind on top in grey. i recommend using 风 in particular. 風 is the traditional character most people use for wind, but im recommending 风 instead because i feel like the x shape in the middle is fitting for a nonbinary gender like this! thank you in advanced. :D
