A very few shots from Rachael & Ryan’s wonderful Wedding at Feniscowles Immanuel Church and Whalley Abbey.
Here's my brother, but what is he taking a photo of? Is it a house? Is it a garden? Well, it used to be a very grand house.
We had to climb a wall to get into some woodlands, at the end of a forgotten path was this forgotten ruin.
Having lived in Blackburn all my life until shortly before this photo was taken, I was astonished to find this place, I only went down the track because of my brothers suggestion and neither of us were expecting to find such a wonderful sight as this.
I've traced more info on the ruin:
"Feniscowles Hall | Built 1808 by Baronet Sir William Feilden who had purchased the land from Thomas Ainsworth. He lived there until his death in 1850. It was vacated in 1880 by the family because of pollution of the river. It became a pleasure ground until it closed and was left to become a ruin. It was classed as dilapidated in 1911."
This photo is seventh in the list of my most interesting photos on flickr.
