CLOSED STARTER for @wordsmithings ft. Reza
location ; lord's woods
Helia was finally allowed to simply keep her expression straight. To not fake a smile when she didn’t feel like one, or talk happily when she simply wanted to be silent. She walked back towards the city from Odin’s Tree, her eyes slightly puffy from the crying she’d done earlier, but she had to admit that it made her feel good. She sprinted a little to catch up to Reza. She was wearing her runners and a black outfit that allowed her to move freely and still looked down to earth.
“Reza, hey, I missed you earlier, I’m glad you came,” she said.
CLOSED STARTER for @wordsmithings ft. Chung-Hee
location ; beginning of trail towards Odin's Tree
Topher felt odd going to the tree. They would, without question, to remember Merrin for a moment, to send some good thoughts their way. But they'd kept it short, said a few words, planted a twig, rope, and leaf construction that they'd created before taking the trail, and then ran off again. They didn't want to see the pictures of Lukas Thorsun and Zhyan Suri, those would look at them at work as well, because they wouldn't be able not to pass the memorial at the swimming pool. The memories of the fight against the Fenris Wolf still haunted them.
They almost ran down the hiking trail down to the city, getting distracted at times by the fairy lights.
Then at exactly that moment, they bumped into someone. "Oh sorry," they quickly said, jumping back, almost stumbling against a tree as they did.
CLOSED STARTER for @thesofiavaldez
location ; velvet happy hour / after 8 pm
Nishant had gone to the tree, only for a moment, only to show his face. While he'd known some people personally, he wasn't close to any of them. Still, he needed a distraction, and what better way to find one than to invite a friend who wouldn't question his longing looks into the crowds and the constant anxiety surrounding his dramatic love life.
"Hi Mom!" he said loudly as he spotted Sofia coming in. He'd been waiting by the door because he'd feel bad if she had to text him to find him. He smiled brightly, he'd already had some drinks, and he'd need many many more to feel drunk, but his cheeks were red and his eyes watery. Velvet was hard to get into, but not if you were a pack leader. Getting a plus-one wasn't hard either, though he figured the security at the front would've gladly let Sofia pass. "What do you want to drink?"

Last year the population of Fenrir's Wood went to Odin's Tree in the middle of the Lords Wood to remember everyone taken by the mysterious Murderer. This year the Witches of Fenrir's Wood have opted to do the same, but to make it a less somber they've split the vigil in two: on Saturday the 4th of May everyone from Fenrir's Wood is welcome to come to Odin's Tree and lay offerings near the pictures of the ones they lost. On Sunday the 5th of May everyone is welcome to come to the Odin's Tree to celebrate that the dark period in the city's history is at an end.
ooc; this event is based on Dodenherdenking and Bevrijdingsdag, two Dutch holidays. Feel free to skip this event if it's too heavy as well! If you want your character to have a connection to the victims, I've made a page with a bit of info about them, feel free to write up as many connections as you want!
Note: most individuals killed during the mystery, aside from Zhyan Suri, Axel Sullivan, and Sietse Jorissen, were descendants of the Vikings who first landed in Fenrir's Wood.
More information about the event and what's happening around Fenrir's Wood below
Like last year Odin's Tree is buzzing with Spirit activity. Humans will be mostly untouched by this phenomenon, but both Witches and Werewolves can sense the thickness in the air.
The path between the trees from the edge of the forest to the Tree are lined with fairy lights, in the clearing around the tree there are benches and picnic tables, the pictures of the deceased are hanging against the tree itself, with room in front of it to place flowers, plushies, etc. On Sunday people are allowed to bring food and drinks.
Meanwhile in the city at 8pm sharp on Saturday there will be a period of two minutes of silence. Followed by Happy Hour in most bars and clubs.
Several businesses are closed during the weekend. Shops that sell flowers, plushies, and art have discounts for people who want to buy something to place at the tree. The Fenrir University has its own wall within the school for the three missing students.
A second memorial for the dead is set up at the Fenway Pool, easily accessible to everyone, near the spot where the first victim was found.
