Instead of writing this month, I’ve been working on updating character designs and drawing landscapes to help bring the world of Älthren to life. I’m currently working on a third landscape, but I think I’ll be ready to take a break and start writing again after that!
I’ve taken a 2-week break from A Dawn from the West to catch up on some character designs, polish up The History of Älthren (just finished writing the new preface), and other random things like Witch Hat Atelier crossover fanart.
Good stuff, yes.
Despite also fighting the ever-present voice in the back of my head that says “why bother” amid depressing algorithms and news, I shall persist after recovering in some small crevice like a squirrel in winter.
I’ve been reading Secrets of the Silent Witch instead of being on social media, but! I have a few updates for those who’d like them.
Chapter 10 of A Dawn from the West is halfway done! I’m on a roll.
I updated my Characters page. I can’t believe I’ve already mentioned over 30 characters!
That’s all for now. I have plans, but I’ll stay silent until I actually do said plans.

Since I’ve been going back and forth with it, I’ve ‘removed’ the prologue for my web novel.
Overall, chapter 1 just feels like a better place to start. I’m not sure the prologue was actually helping, anyway. In fact, I fear it may have tuned a few people away. So yes! Please start with chapter 1 if you’re willing to give it a try.

I’ve finished chapter 9 of my web novel! Next step is to record and edit my audio narration. This is where the story starts to really take off.
Paid subscriptions don’t sit with me well at the moment (and also put too much pressure on me), so I changed my website to a donation/tip focus. Subscribing to the newsletter will give access to my worldbuilding web novel and fairy tales, but it’s free. Small donations (labeled as “potions” in my website) are still much appreciated, though.
Been a little quiet here due to being fixated a bit on my @fjorn-the-skald account and hurricane woes (I have no power). I haven’t been able to write (mental state, mostly), but I still have some content scheduled. I’ll hopefully get back to writing more fantasy soon, though!
