In Älthren, wind is full of magic and meaning—and the winds of that world are changing. Centuries of centralization in the west have finally begun to clash openly with the east. The Eldásrí, blessed by the Sun, are on the cusp of expanding Älthren’s budding empire even as the Luálrí, blessed by the Moon, coalesce in the shadows to stop it.

Meanwhile, a timid man named Fëor wants nothing more than to enjoy a quiet cup of tea; but even he cannot ignore the wider world encroaching upon him after a “strange spirit” stumbles into his glade. Her warm wind both troubles him and traps his heart in yearning—a desire to change, to see the world, and figure out why he feels like he’s known this spirit for longer than his lifetime. A cold wind gathers around him, however, as he learns the truth behind his precious “realm of stories.”

Since I’ve been going back and forth with it, I’ve ‘removed’ the prologue for my web novel.

Overall, chapter 1 just feels like a better place to start. I’m not sure the prologue was actually helping, anyway. In fact, I fear it may have tuned a few people away. So yes! Please start with chapter 1 if you’re willing to give it a try.

I’ve finished chapter 9 of my web novel! Next step is to record and edit my audio narration. This is where the story starts to really take off.

Reflection 3

During this week I learned about many things related to arts and paintings. We also watched a video about Henri Matisse, which gave me more information about my topic Fauvism.

Moreover, I have been reading some books that are related to fauves and fauvism to help me write my research paper.

Furthermore, we have worked in pairs to apply the “Elements and Principles of Design Matrix” to Henri Matisse painting titled “Young Girl with a Yellow Sofa”. Then each group have discussed the painting in a class discussion to help us in our interview.

Reflection - Week 2

Advanced Design For the web is a very interesting course, as it makes us look at art and colors from a different point of view.

During this week I started researching Fauvism, by looking at several samples of painting, and by reading some information about it. There were few secondary educational sources online that helped me in the process of understanding this type of paintings.

Moreover, we learned about different types of color theory which will help us understand the meaning and concept of using colors.

Furthermore, as part of color theory we have done two different color quizzes to test our ability to identify different colors and shades.

Lastly, we have analyzed Vincent van Gogh painting “The Starry Night”, and we applied some of the design matrix elements and principles to help us in the process of writing our research paper.
