"Are you pepping me up or psyching yourself up, dear father?" Ceilidh asked with a tease, "For you know, you are also without spouse. And there are many that could fall for your wiles. And worry not for me for I will support your endeavors."

For a moment, she was sure he was about to step out with her goading. However he seemed to reevaluate and realize where this might go, "Ceilidh, please. I would like for you to try. As you know--"

And that was where the scribe started to tune him out. It's not like she wanted to sit here and be lectured all night. Her eyes glanced about as she noticed the musician shifting about, a pause before the tone of the music selection became more uptempo. There it was.

Ceilidh stood and started stepping in time. Her gaze looked for a body either excusing themselves from the dance floor or making a step in towards it. She didn't look for whom it was so long as it was an open hand. Interrupting her father, she called, "Look, I'm already on it. We'll catch up later~!"

Turning attention back to the poor person she snatched up, she apologized, "I'm terribly sorry but I was desperate and you were right there. But I can assure you I won't step on your toes. Just...allow me a couple minutes away from the table, please?"
