The man was not a pretty sight - dark bags under his eyes stood out against his deathly-pale skin, and cobwebs clung to his rumpled suit. If his appearance wasn’t enough, he twitched and jerked irregularly as he walked. One particularly strong tic tripped him, left him stumbling - straight into a hapless passerby.

Stephen smiled wide and sharp, backing away. He didn’t sound particularly apologetic. If they dared to look closely enough, they’d see his skin rippling disconcertingly to the movement of many small somethings crawling underneath it.
