Dyers greenweed! Top one is mordanted with alum, bottom one is unmordanted. Both spun on a drop spindle by yours truly. It’s so yellow. Unbelievably yellow.
Boiled the plant (around 25g fresh, leaves and stalk, chopped up into smaller pieces) for a couple of hours, let it cool for a bit before popping the yarn in. After letting it simmer for a little, I transferred everything to a jar. Left the yarn in there overnight before taking it out and rinsing it.
