So from what I’m getting from your Montreal and heated rivalry posts is that when Montreal found out they Shane and Ilya were involved and had been for years, the actual response would have been “well I guess we have to sign Ilya fucking Rozanov. Anything to keep our three-cup captain happy” ?

i mean the bigger issue would be that he's from boston. like montreal hates boston. but god, if their beloved captain had a sweetie???? like their 3 time cup winning captain??? like heaven and earth. you do not know how thirsty this city is for a cup

like shane hollander could commit felonies and the city would still be what a nice boy

for perspective, jean beliveau was a god. he was captain to the montreal canadiens. like they would ask him to talk to the public to calm them down WHEN HE WAS RETIRED. one of the greatest Canadiens ever won the Stanley Cup 10 times in his career. then another 7 as a part of the management staff.

Yeah, she’s like, just some random lady who’s decided she’s the monarch of Canada, and people are following her?? It’s Q mixed with a hearty helping of sovereign citizen, which is just the worst combination. The “arrest warrant” was completely bogus, just something downloaded off the internet, and absolutely wacko, demanding the arrest of (among others) Justin Trudeau, Chrystia Freeland, Stephen Harper, Joe Biden, Pope Francis, Pope Benedict, the estate of Pope John Paul II (???), various other religious people including members of the Unitarian Church (she seems to have a special hatred for the Unitarians), and Xi Jinping, which sure, let me know how that goes for you.

The whole “duck hunting” thing means they’re right on the line of hilariously stupid and potentially dangerous. I doubt anything’s going to happen, but Q is a lunatic death cult, so you never know for sure.

What’s “cake spice”?

It’s basically an expanded pumpkin pie spice -- it’s got the pie spice ingredients plus a few extra. It also generally has less cinnamon in it, at least the kind I get, and I’m sensitive to cinnamon as a flavoring so I prefer it to straight cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice in baking. I get mine from Penzey’s here.

I don’t think I’ve ever had one puff quite that much! The inside is all air bubbles, and even the flat parts have two layers, the underside that cooked when it hit the pan and the upper part that steam-cooked from below and baked from above. Dutch babies are always delicious but when it puffs like that you get a nice mix of soft fluffy bits and crunchy edges.

Absolutely! And I think I might also interline it with flannel, for an extra layer of warmth. I actually emailed the museum asking for pictures of the inside, and they sent some! So now I know that the original is fully lined in green silk taffeta. I’ll use something from my stash instead, I think.

Isn’t she enhanced in the comics?

She is, which is why I wish they’d kept it in the movies. In Winter Soldier she mentions working for the KGB (which of course was gone after the fall of the Soviet Union in ‘91), so I had hoped that it was going to be revealed that she was older than she looked due to enhancements, but they just kind of left that potential plot point by the side of the road.

When you said that there was going to be a reenactment in the near future I was expecting you to be acting out the Crowley part. I am both relieved and slightly disappointed this was not the case.

Yeah, I’m much too camera-shy for that :D And while I do currently have the hair for Aziraphale, I don’t have the rest of the outfit or a good place to set up the background dressing....

What is the metal thing on top of the egg cup and what does it do?

The doinger! @ferrific asked about it too. It’s a metal lid with a long bar on top that has a spring inside of it. You pull up the top of the bar and it slams down the doinger on top of the egg, neatly breaking the shell on a soft-boiled egg so that you can pull it off and scoop out the delicious jammy insides. We call it a doinger because it makes a soft “doing!” noise when used. There’s a good video demo here (albeit without the noise): 

It doesn’t actually work on chocolate. Through the magic of photography I removed the egg after pretending to doinger it and sliced the top off with a knife.
