One day when I'm sitting across from people who need my help, I'm gonna tell them the same thing: Even though every day might hurt, I'm glad you're here to see them. <3
I think "I'm glad you're here" is a really good thing to say because it lets the person know they're valued and wanted.
Because I overthink and tend to foresee a million potential problems I would probably avoid the "I'm glad you're here to see them" because in a really dark place being "here to see them" can feel like torture or punishment, so it could be heard as "I'm glad you're here and suffering even if you don't want to be."
I feel like "I'm glad you're here" is about the speaker, whereas "I'm glad you're here to see them" is saying that the recipient's experience is good even if they're suffering.
But that's probably just because i look for everything that could ever be interpreted badly in any way, and there's really no perfect thing to say that couldn't be twisted or misinterpreted in some way.
