Headcanons - Fertility Defect
The Fertility Defect is a birth-developed genetic disease disorder that may occur for bearers in the Chemistry AU. More information about the verse can be found here.
Type: genetic defect developed by birth
Symphoms:
No sympthoms or discomfort until a heat starts
Detection:
Can be detected by an x-ray or ultrasound
Consequence
When a heat starts, the person starts feeling excruciating pain
They start heavily bleeding
The seizures turn into convulsions.
The person can black out, pass into shock or even pass into coma state, it depends of their pain tolerance and blood loss as well as the severity of the complication. The risk is double for people with conditions like hemophilia or anemia.
If the person is not injected by hormones or mated, they will most likely die
Other complications:
High-risk and extremely complicated pregnancy. Bed rest and special treatment will most likely be mandatory
High-risk and highly complicated labor. C-section will most likely be recommended.
High risk of becoming barren after the pregnancy
Extremely painful mating (during the complication)
Curing:
There is no way to remove the defect for it is genetic, however it disappears after the person is mated for the heats disappear
Suppressant - mandatory since the person hits the puberty. Can prevent a heat, but cannot eliminate the defect or stop a complication when a heat starts
Hormonal Injections - can both prevent the heat and stop the complication if a heat starts, but cannot eliminate the defect
