not super pretty, but a run down of the extended ryder family that myself, @fervidus and @prettytragcdies have started! (also if anyone wants to join, michael is always open as a wanted connection :p)
most nurses felt at home in a hospital, bored even. savannah always felt on edge. as a midwife she was the last (sometimes only) line of defense for her clients. clients who were counting on her to advocate for them, to protect them if it came down to that. dread floods her senses as the nurse midwife clamps eyes on doctor martin. " no, no, no. " savannah whispers under her breath.
she sees doctor wilson coming her direction. " dr. wilson. " the nurse calls, striding over from where she is to meet her. last thing savannah (or her client) need is catching the attention of that monster. " can we talk? " she asks.
let me help you prompts. accepting.
@fervidus : you can't do everything by yourself. from amelia shepherd.
"that’s categorically untrue, shepherd." the argument was spoken with complete confidence, barely sparing her a glance. his attention is focused fully on the research notes busy hands had been rifling through for hours now. obsessive, that’s what his therapist called him during a session once. the moment dr. koracick’s mind honed in on something, it refused to quit. refused to rest too. not until he had the answers he wanted. it was what made him a great doctor and, in his less than humble opinion, an even better surgeon. "not only could i do all this by myself, but i could do it all and still have time to cook us dinner after." gaze finally did flick up then, just enough to flash her a boyish smile; the one his never - ending grief has grown used to hiding behind. joking is easier than admitting she might be right. there were few people in the world tom might consider listening to, but amelia? ⸻ she can often be a voice of reason, if he listens hard enough. the real challenge was getting him to confess that. "is your favourite the same as it used to be?"
INBOX: 𝐃𝐑. 𝐉𝐎𝐇𝐍 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐓 ⸻ @fervidus [ kim burgess ] ❛ this sounds a lot worse than i expected. ❜
❛ it is honestly normal, believe it or not. ❜ john told kim with a small smile as he took a seat on the rolling stool in between kim and her adoptive daughter, makayla who was sleeping soundly on the bed. ❛ once she gets her TSH levels back down to a normal level, she will start to feel much better. I can also recommend you to a list of endocrinologist's in the area, it is good to have one so they can closely monitor Makayla's levels. ❜ the resident looks to Kim and back to his patient, smiling at the both of them before continuing, picking up the tablet. ❛ in the meantime, I think it is best to keep her here for a day or two and see how she adjusts to the medication, and I will page the on-call endocrinologist to come see her also. ❜
❛ she is a sweet girl. it is great that you adopted her. I wasn't so lucky myself in my upbringing. I just wish I knew it at the time. ❜ john said, not to suddenly make it about him. but he just wanted to give credit where it was due, and compliment them. he wished that all parents could be like kim and adam, or any of the other good ones he has met ⸻ knowing that despite the bad ones he has come across, they are still few and far in-between.
Started as a practice for biblically accurate angels, but ended writing more lore and drawing designs for him to add to the bunch of fallen angels ocs I have.
Fervidus was an angel that fell due to being a warrior driven strongly by emotions, following his heart more than his brain, which led him to act in a "wrathful way" towards humans (though he acted out of personal defence, after a facility captured him and tried to test on him for their own greed).
Fervidus' halo melted the moment he fell into hell, leaving only broken pieces that has horns like shapes.
His helmet has ten golden eyes that he close and open whenever he wants.
Fervidus can't transform into his angelic form anymore and he is still figuring out if he can shift into something more eldtrich or he will remain into his ''humanoid'' form.
Fervidus wanders around Earth, hunting down the humans that caused his demise, although he is slowly drifting away from his actual goal.
He is still in denial from being casted out and this is slowly turning him even more wrathful, a bloodlusted being.
Fervidus denies also his growing interest into some humans or even demons, appreciating more how life on earth works and visiting the hell's rings to learn more about that reign.
IN ALL THE YEARS JEAN HAS BEEN ON THIS EARTH, there has only ever been one place that felt like home. It’s not the four walls of the Gunnhildr manor, nor the sanctity of the Cathedral’s halls. It isn’t even the office that sees more of her than her own family does…no. Her sanctuary has always been Windrise. A piece of tranquility in a life that has none, a sense of stillness to offset the racing thoughts that as of late so often have threatened to consume her.
There’s melancholy in the way she sits at odds with herself, picking seeds from a dandelion head as she lets them loose to the wind, one trouble at a time, carried away by a breeze that serves as her greatest comfort. She doesn’t budge at the sound of oncoming footsteps, scarcely even looks up as she twirls a stem between finger and thumb. But she knows who it as all the same.
It’s always been him. Like a comforting shadow, that has forever shielded her from straying too close to the sun. ❝Your stealth is slipping Diluc. If you sneak up on the enemy like that, you’re going to get yourself killed. ❞
" people used to ask me all the time why i didn't go into criminal law. " everyone had expected the daughter of meredith grey to pick a higher stakes field of study, if not medical school. " stuff like what happened yesterday is why. " an entire crew turned upside down, baseless accusations thrown around. all on the word of a woman who saw a group of convicts and assumed the worst.
ellie doesn't want to think about what could have happened if chief leone hadn't gone back and helped the woman find her missing watch. " it never sat right with me that someone's whole life could be derailed by one person. " one person who had their own motives and biases.
ellie used to think she was in decent shape. she wasn't an olympian by any stretch of the imagination, more of a compulsive tree climber than anything. but years of climbing and sitting in trees had given her a strong frame. powerful legs and arms ellie thought would be able to carry her through everything. until she, along with the rest of con camp, had to cut line for a day straight.
floating out this far was dangerous. the lightening struck trees on either side of the lake marked an invisible line between the women's and men's camp. guess she's getting used to playing with fire. ellie feels her hand brush against someone else's, and shoots up out of the water.
