I was there, at the old Covered Dish, when Jawbreaker played with Tampa’s mighty Pink Lincolns. I had missed them in ‘90 at Tampa’s Volley Club, so I was determined to not miss the Dish gig in ‘93. Full of $1 Olympia beers (and maybe a handfull of truck-stop speed...) I sang along to EVERY song, all of which I knew by heart. Still one of my best show memories ever. This weekend, after the emotional rollercoaster that every day-one JB fan has ridden, I saw them once again. Blocks away from where I did 26 years ago.

At Fest16, Strummer talked me into doing my first Fest flash piece, my anklegator. After her death, I was reminded of how important this community is to me, so I decided we were going to Fest. It was a tough one, I missed her at every turn, but I was surrounded by friends from far and wide and it was everything.
