wet paper towel of a man. absolute drowned street rat of a guy. he smiled once in the cold war era and has never smiled again. he came back from the dead just for his students to claim he never taught them what an oxford comma is.

festur’s playlist slaps so unnecessarily hard
The hard thing abt Fes and Rip is that there’s…. Really no right or wrong here. The morality isn’t clear.
Festur has good intentions. Does preventing Rip from remembering him benefit him in a way? Yes, absolutely, but he isn’t doing it for that. Had Fes stayed alive, he wouldve still had this reflective mindset. He was an angry kid in a bad situation, dealing with his own losses, stressors, and issues. He isn’t proud of what he did. He doesn’t want Rip to relive any of it.
But on the opposite side…ultimately it SHOULD be Riptid’s choice, right? But how can you ask him without….really sparking those memories anyways? How can he really consent to the nature of remembering, of unburying those repressed memories, without really knowing the full extent of them? How can he really know what he’s getting into? Especially when combined with the fact that remembering some memories will undoubtedly open the floodgates. There’s so so SO much more in Rip’s head that he’s repressed, beyond just Festur.
But, again, isn’t it his choice? Who really gets a say? Who is truly right here, when both are?
