9. Most disliked character(s)? Why? & 10. Most disliked arc? Why?

so my answers to these are related and i know some of you are gonna disagree with me on this, but here goes: the character i honestly dislike the most is probably raphael because i don’t find him compelling at all. like take maryse, for example - i disagree with her on a pretty fundamental level and i dislike her actions immensely but she still makes for a really compelling character? but with raphael, i feel like i haven’t been given anything to grab onto. like i know he's something of a fan favorite, but i've just never seen it i guess

and now his entanglement in the izzy addiction storyline has just kind of cemented my dislike of him i think. i hate that storyline so, so much, and the writers trying to paint some kind of a heady romantic vibe between izzy and raphael and the drug use is just gross imo. i liked that they had magnus try to call it out a bit in that one scene, but it wasn’t enough tbh

so yeah, idk. that’s my (likely unpopular) opinion on that

10. Most disliked arc? Why?

I guess I could rant about C/imon and Jocelyn’s sudden death, but the arc I truly can’t stand is Victor Aldertree’s. You can’t establish a villain - because Aldertree is a villain; he’s a torturer, an authority that drugs his subjects, a condescending homophobic and downworlder hater - just to try to give him a redemption arc on the middle-season finale by throwing in some forbidden lost love.

That was sloppy writing and frankly annoying. No, I don’t buy that he was in love with that werewolf girl at all. I don’t care about his Nephilim Problems™. I don’t recognize any hint of goodness the show forced his way. 

The writers proved with Lydia they can write a multi-layered Clave envoy. Aldertree was a horrible attempt if they were going for the same thing. Keep him as a villain and let the only good thing about him be the fact he’s played by Nick Sagar.

The spa near my city, oh my god. it smells good, it’s quiet, there’s hot tubs and you’re just meant to relax...

also. my bed. my family’s cabin, especially when we make a campfire.

I know you'll probably get tons of asks regarding the TRK spoilers, I've heard that Adam almost kills Ronan or tries to. Is that true? Thank you!

it’s true buddy lmao. but im p sure he was like? being controlled by cabeswater or smth like that and as he’s doing it he feels v guilty and upset and ronan doesn’t get Salty abt it he just!! holds him and whispers in his ear in latin and it’s super gay

Feuilly: 5) A cherished personal belonging, please!

He doesn’t have much, but he does cherish very much what he has; his books especially, but also a blanket, one he got the first winter he spent in Paris, the one thing that was his in the tiny room his boss let him sleep in above the workshop. He was 13; it’s in wool, not dyed and pretty ugly, but and reminds him of something that should be at home, something that should have a family memory linked to it. It doesn’t, not for Feuilly, but he used to pretend and he’s loved it for so long that even if the family memories aren’t real, the feelings are. He washes it by hand whenever he can, and he’s surprised it’s lasted this long. No pest or humidity has gotten to it, which is a miracle. (Maybe it’s blessed?)

feuilly: 6, Hugging headcanon?

(modern Feuilly) Feuilly spent a lot of time in different foster homes, so depending on where he was, he didn’t necessarily get a lot of hugs growing up. As a result, he’s not very tactile, especially not compared to the rest of the Amis. 

But because he grew up without a lot of hugs, he understands their power, so when he sees someone needs a hug (either because they’re really sad, or really happy about something), he gives some of the best hugs in the world that communicates how much he loves the recipient. Basically, his hugs are rare, but amazing when they happen.

I love when you talk about Grantaire/Feuilly friendship because the dynamic you describe is exactly how I picture it

ahhh thank you! It’s one of my favourite things - I feel like they’d butt heads at first but they’re both outspoken people, so they’d get it out of their system pretty quickly? then they’d realise they have more in common than they first thought, and they’d appreciate each other so much. like, they’d be a lot... I dunno, relaxed around each other? which shows in different ways - Grantaire would be less biting and a little quieter, and Feuilly would be a little more teasing and fun and definitely less guarded.

they’re the kind of friends who sit on a couch making snarky comments at movies all night, and at one point they’re not even listening to the movie anymore, they’re just arguing with each other. then they probably fall asleep leaning against each other, still wearing their day clothes. they also do little chores - they’ve got a chores barter system going - and they text each other a lot, just to check if things are okay. ‘hey man, have you eaten today?’ ‘yo this is your daily reminder that you need to get some fucking sleep tonight. no less than 7 hours!’ ‘okay i haven’t seen your face in two weeks so put on some pants I’m taking you out. we’ll just drive around okay?’ etc.

I'm always up for talking about Feuilly! How about Feuilly who finally realizes his dream of getting to travel the world (either for a vacation or his career) but when this dream comes true he's become incredibly attached to his friends and is afraid of what will happen during his time away only for said friends to facetime/skype him everyday and he sees them almost more while he's away than he did back home

aw, yess! He has trouble believing he really means much to his friends - despite how often they tell him, after a lifetime of people being temporary in his life, he needs reassurance that this time, his friends do want to stick by him. <3
