OH OK so this week a new boy appeared, or rather an old boy

i mean we are the same age, but actually i’ve known him for like fourteen years. we were in the same fourth grade class and we matched on tinder and started talking. it was weird because like, i moved halfway through fourthgrade to a nearby town and then we went to separate middle and high schools but we came to the same college, and we ran into each other once the first week of freshman year and never saw each other again. 

but anyway we’ve been chatting and last night we went out and got pho together and had a two hour long conversation. we were talking about how we had the same piano teacher and went to the same chinese school and my mom works with one of his best friends’s dad and we majored in the same thing at college. And he said this thing that i thought was so great, which was, “wow, we’ve had like, the same life.” 

it’s strange because up until like four years ago our lives were indeed very similar, and he’s like this window into what could’ve happened if i hadn’t gotten sick. 

another thing that was pretty cute was that apparently he has this weird metabolic thing where he’s super tall and skinny and can’t gain weight. apparently if he eats a big meal his body will just heat up.
