i love how i started off so strong & now i am just ... losing my !!! so um !! look. hayroline. i need hayroline. like. like. HNNNG. all of caroline's canon ships are shit I AM SORRY I AM RIGHT. but on the flip side - emerson & your faebaes. buffy vs cordelia , especially in the present time where they are both in their forties & you know. two gen x'ers trying to figure out millenial & stuff. it would be hilarious.

shellybellywelly ! okay , um , this is just what my rat brain came up with & honed over for years so if it doesn't pertain to your characters - or anyone's tbh - that's okay. basically , the fae is one of the oldest of creation , far more technologically advanced than we could ever dream of. from wars & mixing with other species "true fae" is dying out. super set in their ways. the fae species itself isn't exactly a monolith - there are subspecies that actually created different creatures throughout the world - but when i speak of "true fae" i mean the high fae. the royal fae. they are trick & capricious & while they can give aid to heroes they could also be someone's worst nightmare.

they , much like deities & other nature-based & ethereal creatures , have low regard for vampires or shifters ( cursed , not born. ) they find them dirty. the fae made their blood toxic to vampires as a result ; if it wasn't toxic , they could walk in the sun & weave high magic & be unstoppable. unfortunately , if one of their kind was made into a vampire or a shifter of some sort - or even a demon - & they consumed fae blood , it would not harm them , & it would give them considerable strength.

nymphs , banshee , mermaids / sirens , etc can be considered fae since they are descended from them. kitsune's are considered cousins , too. witches are rivals of the fae , but there is a lot of respect - regardless if it's a white witch or a dark witch. there is almost an unspoken rule that witches & fae cannot go to actual war with one another because they both adhere to the laws of nature. a fae , however , is known to be savants of word play so ... take that with a grain of salt.

the high fae has the ability to travel to other worlds much like the eldr blood. since it's kind of clear that sapko was inspired by fae folklore when making the aen elle , we are gonna go off that mindset. they can travel from world to world with ease. time isn't linear for them it's clay.

they are very powerful & very deadly , but they are not immortal. they live for years & years - longevity - but they will eventually die. iron is their biggest weakness. silver , too. & for a nod for my trekkie moots : chocolate makes them hella drunk / high , depending on if it's milk chocolate to dark chocolate ( the latter which will make them experience a blackout. ) since they are the world's best lawyers & use words like a contortionist would use their body , it can also be used against them. names , too. names are sacred & very powerful. if you know a fae - high fae or just run-of-the-mill fae - the true name you own them , or control them until you , the invoker , says otherwise. it's a huge crime against them so once you set them free make sure you crossed your t's & dotted your i's because they will - if they are aware they can - find a way to pay you back for taking their agency.
