✂ ── REVELATION
jaeyong just so happens to be a genius. he is just the smartest man in the world, the brightest guy around.
even jaeyong knows he doesn't need the ego boost, but suki just keeps giving it to him. he has to dip into the utmost depths of his composure and acting ability to keep any and all smug smiles off his face because god, she is just playing into his hand, and this is going better than he ever might've imagined.
sure, it meant offering himself up as a vampire's blood bag and feeling absolutely disgusted for a week, but jaeyong has his priorities straight and knows how to play the game to get his way.
step one of the game: abstain from hunting for a month so he could lose the stench of death and charm a vampire into inviting him to their fancy, despicable vampire party. step two: infiltrate the gala in search of intelligence and future targets, and maybe acquire some raffle prizes. (he has his sights set on those rings in particular. imagine the power he would hold with a charm that detects supernatural creatures in his vicinity. he could kill so many, and save so many.)
suki was so kind to oblige.
he found her thanks to his cousin, who apparently knew her, and didn't kill her. (questionable. he didn't ask questions, because after all, he was about to know her without killing her too.)
he just tipped him off to where she usually fed, and jaeyong just stumbled upon her, wide-eyed, curious human catching a vampire in the act. he seemingly selflessly provided himself as a snack for her in exchange for suki telling him about her world. (every time her fangs sunk into his neck he thought about the fact that some people actually got off on that. gross. he also thought about the knives in his pockets, and how easy it would be to stab her through the brain stem.)
she told him about the gala without him even asking, and invited him too. hook line and sinker, and here jaeyong is, sipping on fancy wine provided by the generosity of his vampire companion (blech-- to the vampire, not the wine.)
part of him is curious how long he can keep his little ruse going. realistically, it would benefit him most to keep it a secret until the very end, in which he could off the vampire and escape with everything he ever wanted, like a very intelligent parasite killing its host. that would be quite dramatic, fitting of jaeyong, but...god, wouldn't it be fun to see her find out? besides...she and his cousin are acquainted with each other, so she doesn't kill hunters on sight...hmm.
he runs over the risks in his head. she likely won't murder in him the middle of the gala even if he deserves it, but he could be done for as soon as they step outside, especially out of sight of the other guests. how likely is he to survive that? jaeyong planned ahead, carefully hiding the knives he wasn't able to bring into the event in the surrounding area outside so he could quickly retrieve one and kill mitsuki. he trusts his own abilities enough. he could get away from her and get to one of his knives in time before she killed him. well, he most likely could. he weighs the risk, and decides it's one he's willing to take in favor of more dramatics.
"so," he begins with a purposeful sip of his wine and hint of a smirk on his face, finally, finally abandoning the cursed clueless human persona. "is there anyone here you wouldn't mind seeing go? i'm trying to decide the first one i want to kill," and he looks over at her and grins, just a little devilish.
