Yellow Wine x Master Attendant Headcanons #2: Romance~
Believe it or not he's not actually that great when it comes to romance.
He'll tease you and flirt with you non-stop, but when it comes to actually being intimate like that it's a bit of a struggle.
He's not afraid to tease you in public as a way of showing you off, but anything romantic is going to be kept private.
He doesn't really do any grand gestures. His idea of romance is mainly spending quality private time with you. Typically that involves just lying down and cuddling, probably sharing drinks, as well as a lot of kissing.
It is cute, though, to see his confident, snarky demeanor change when you're alone together, and he gets flustered as he actually tries to be sentimental.
Raindrop Cake x Master Attendant #1: You are loved
At first, he's really not fond of this sort of attention.
He doesn't understand why you're bothering with him when you already have so many other food souls who could probably do his job but better. And with his condition he doesn't see how he could possibly be of help anywhere else. But now you're stuck with him.
You're the type of person who wants to actively fix people's problems, so it really hurts when you can't help him or cheer him up in any way.
After a few weeks, you begin to realize that the only way to help is to take a more passive approach and to give him a bit more space.
It's better not to bring any direct attention to the way he's feeling, so gestures of kindness are the next best thing you can do.
You're always making sure he's well fed and remind him to take care of himself whenever you notice he forgets something. He genuinely means it when he compliments your cooking, even if the responses are a bit curt at first.
Sanma and Bonito attract a lot of cats to the restaurant, and one day Bonito suggests the idea that animal therapy may help comfort Raindrop, with Sanma pointing out how animals can often do things that humans can't, which is why they're the best companions.
The three of you approach Raindrop about the idea and he's a bit reluctant, but eventually he agrees. The group takes him out to the patio where you try to wrangle the cats, and you let the little guys handle it from there.
A couple cats curiously sniff his feet, but one jumps up on his lap and begins licking his hand. And it's very ticklish.
And let me tell you his giggle is the most pure thing in the world. Flowers are blooming as we speak.
So with help from Sanma, Bonito, and the cats, Raindrop's mood seems to get a bit better. Eventually, he's more open with you, but he still has trouble understanding what you see in him.
One day, he's stroking the playful cat that made him laugh (who he's given the nickname of "Snow Pea" for her little white paws) and you're kneeling down, resting an arm on his knees and also playing with Snow Pea.
Not looking up he asks "I still don't understand why you've kept me around all this time. Why you go to such lengths for me. I've barely been of any use to any of you..."
It's not hard for you to answer. "Every soul I summon, I know that it has to be for a reason. I know there's a reason I found you. You're a part of this family now, and we all care about you. We want to see you happy, to see you grow. Even if you can't see it-"
"I do."
You look up at him a bit surprised. Still not looking up from Snow Pea, he places a hand on yours. "I... I do. I see it now." His voice began to tremble, and his grip on your hand tightened. "Thank you for not giving up on me. You're not like the others. I see that now..."
That boy needed a long hug and some food after that. Over food he confesses that he's finally found something to care about, but something that he's neglected for a long time. And it's you.
You're definitely very special to her if you've caught her attention.
While the relationship isn't all lovey-dovey, it's still very mature and pleasant.
She's the kiss-your-cheek-and-ask-about-your-day type of girlfriend. Though it's not over coffee or snack or anything. It's over drinks.
She usually just pours the alcohol straight and will do the same for you, but if you guys are feeling fancy she likes mixing simple cocktails and stuff for you guys to try together. (By the way, if you wrap your arms around her while she's making them, she'll start humming. Works every time without fail.)
Probably one of the coolest things is her letting you take care of Andre. She'll teach you signals and how to handle him, as well as how he likes to be fed and groomed. He's like the most chill pet-bird you'll ever have except for some occasional rare screeching fits that he has for no goddamn reason.
You guys spend a lot of quiet time with each other. You might be reading a book while she's leaning on your shoulder doing her nails.
If you have a T.V. or movie set up though, it's the most wholesome thing in the world. She's the one who will wrap the both of you together in a blanket and snuggle while watching shows and movies. (I can see her liking high fantasy stuff and/or something Game-of-Thrones-esque.)
She won't admit it but she does like getting pampered by you. It doesn't matter what it is, really, but you'll get lots of extra affection later for treating her like a queen.
While she is the tough-love type, at the end of the day she just always wants to see you trying your best, and you know she'll always support you. And if you both have a bad day, you can talk about it over drinks and always try again tomorrow.
Steak x Red Wine x Master Attendant #1 - Love Triangle
As if the love-hate relationship between Steak and Red Wine wasn't already going strong...
Both of them have a very strong desire to protect you. It's just a part of their personality. And that desire is intensified tenfold once they realize their feelings for you.
They have similar tastes, if you get my drift, so it's no surprise they'd fall for the same person.
I'm praying for the MA they both fall for once they find out they both have feeling for you, because they're going to be on you 24/7 to try and keep you from the other. They'd never invade your privacy or anything, but they're constantly trying to steal your attention.
Steak would be the one to frequently come up behind you with hugs, probably to glare at Red if you're talking with him. Meanwhile Red would be the one having you take his arm in a very gentlemanly manner, most likely to guide you away from wherever Steak is.
It's basically the synopsis of a fantasy/romance novel. Like and prince and a knight both falling for the same gentleman/damsel. The knight is showing off feats of strength while the prince is showering them with gifts. Eventually teaming up with one another to make a daring rescue for the one they love.
You really adore them both and can't pick, so you tell them you want to be with both of them.
It pleases them, yes. But does it stopping the fighting? Nope. It just means that their competition for attention will be a lot more intimate in nature. Just be ready for a lot more stolen kisses than you bargained for~
Things are still uneasy between them, but if there's one thing those two can finally come together on, it's their love for you <3
Bonus: When they finally make the confession, Gingerbread is the one in the back with a basket of rose petals, shouting “IT’S ABOUT TIME!”
I don't watch enough modern movies/shows on Netflix so I might not be able to answer this properly, but I can see him getting really invested in action shows/anime, drama/mystery, and occasionally cheesy romance stuff.
There's no such thing as spacing it out for him. It's binge-watch or bust.
He'll only put his phone down or let himself be dragged away from the TV by you, but only after several minutes of whining and complaining.
Honestly though it's really fun to watch stuff with him. He's very animated the whole time. He majorly freaks out wherever there are major plot twists and gets jumpy and excited during action sequences.
He also cries at every sappy, tear-jerking moment and it's precious. If you tease him about it he always tries to make an excuse like "I just got some salt in my eye."
For some of the deeper, more dramatic shows, he won't admit it but he really needs you there for emotional support. There's lots of hugs, and you're there to remind him it's just a show/movie and they're not real.
Doesn't stop him from crying like a baby whenever characters go to the great beyond.
...
One night when you were up late having trouble sleeping, you remember someone shouting, "YEAH OF COURSE I'M STILL WATCHING YOU JERKS!" from down the hall. Yup, this boy has a problem.
Just some more thoughts on cost of the Peking skin.
This isn’t a rant. This is just my thoughts since I know a lot of people have been kind of worried about the future of the game by the cost. I’ll start with a little backstory. I’d very much appreciate it if you’d give it a read.
So I used to play Love Nikki, one of Elex’s other games. In the last few months I played, each event cost about 4000 Diamonds (currency like Crystals) to complete, and these were basically weekly. In the game you could only get about 1/10th of that in a week. Not to mention every other month they had events that cost double or even triple that. When I first started playing, 1000-2000 was the average per event, so while I had to skip some, it wasn’t impossible to save for the suits I really liked.
Not to mention the clothes have stats associated with them, so some items are just straight up better than others. I remember a $7 suit (which you could only get by spending real cash, by the way) that was top-scoring in almost a third of the game’s stages including the PvP arena, but I decided not to get it just because I didn’t like the suit. And of course in PvP events, I suffered for it.
I felt that the game stopped rewarding players who saved by making it basically impossible to get suits (especially top-scoring ones) without spending money. I was starting to put down like $10 a week just to keep up, then $20 a week, before I decided enough was enough and now I’m taking an extended hiatus from the game.
In Food Fantasy I was able to save over 2,000 Crystals in the past couple of weeks because I get bonuses from the monthly packs. The only thing I struggle to save for is embers because I tend to spend them off-banner, but you can exchange Crystals for Embers plus extra gold anyways. And when banners come up I usually get the UR every 30-40 pulls at worst.
So far skins and shards have been obtainable through events which I feel you can reasonably grind for and have only costed like 300-400 crystals on average unless it’s a Surprise Explosion type of event, and even then if you don’t want the character there’s no pressure a lot of the time to do it because the base-game heroes are already very good. Oh yeah, and they’ve never directly made you spend money for heroes.
Did you know that there was a suit which cost $100 to get in Love Nikki and has only ever been available through that method? Yeah...
The reason people put up with the scam in the Pizza event (which they fixed after getting called out, btw) is because Pizza was/is an overpowered character and were willing to put down the money for him he was that good. I could have tried more in the event and got him but I wouldn’t have been able to do it without putting down money so I didn’t. And that event taught me to save and basically told me that players who save can still have a chance.
Look, I know about some of the stuff they’ve put on other servers. I’m dreading to see what they do with the Eggnog event because he’ll either be very easy or almost impossible to get. Skins have been available through literal slot-machines before, and you can see it with the wedding skins again right now.
But so far most of the events we’ve gotten on global have been reasonable enough to complete, and when we were unhappy, Elex and Funtoy actually made changes. They did it with Pizza, they did it with Sweet Tofu’s skin, heck I think they even did it for Caviar over something?
So yeah. Even by the time this event completes, I’ll still have probably 500-600 Crystals in my bank because of what I earn daily. Back to the average event cost we have every other week or so and then some.
If the B-52 skin stays a delivery event then it’s still possible to complete because it’s reliant on vouchers and deliveries, not Crystals, and I’ve been saving vouchers because of that. If they just throw it in the shop like they did for Zongzi and CRS then maybe I’m in trouble, but since it’s a UR skin I don’t see that happening.
Long story short this game can be a bit money-hungry at times, but most of the stuff to put your money down on has been optional, and if you pay attention to the other servers it gives you time to save for your faves.
But say the worst-case scenario happens and the game does start becoming pay-to-win. And I’m not talking about weekly rankings; I’m talking about spending 2000 Crystals on average for basic events or straight up gambling outside of the summoning (and the stupid FA smelting). Being able to get heroes only through recharging money. Yeah we have recharge events and Crystal-spending rewards but those have almost always been there for the whales. Elex would have to be idiots to think the average player is going to spend $800 on some shards and a skin.
I feel like this is testing the waters again for what players are willing to spend their crystals/cash on. I've already been saving so I’m fine, but yeah obviously a lot of players don’t want to spend the crystals they’ve been saving on a cosmetic.
I know I said in the past that I would save after the Hotpot event but this was also on my radar so I’m willing to put down my crystals for it. It’s purely my preference of how I want to spend them.
But when the game starts actively punishing you for not spending money, like they did with Love Nikki, that’s when I’ll reconsider where I put my money.
Hey. I know after the Chocolate fiasco I kind of just up and vanished but I want to clarify right now that it was completely unrelated to that.
Basically late December through January has just been kicking my ass. I lost another relative not long ago, I need to find a new job, and my physical and mental health has been on the decline as well. My mental health has gotten so bad to the point where I come close to getting a panic attack every time I go on social media. This isn’t just Tumblr, it’s also stuff like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. And it’s not anxiety about whether or not I will mess up, but rather who/what group has messed up and how much they’re gonna get attacked for it.
Half my Facebook lately has just been, “Unfriend me if you like ___,” “I’ll block you if you use ‘___’ in your vocabulary,” “Kill yourself if you think ___ is ok.” Some of it is deserved and pretty obvious, others are just seriously small, petty stuff in my eyes. And for the small stuff, I know if I ask these people “Hey I don’t really understand where this is coming from, can you explain it to me,” they’ll just block me for not immediately agreeing with them or not immediately seeing the problem. Why do I still have them added? I don’t know, but I don’t even have the energy to do a friend purge at the moment because of how much I hate going on the site in the first place.
But back to Tumblr, the few times I have managed to rack up the courage just to check on the tag and the blogs I follow, it’s just been absolutely toxic. I hate to say it, and I’ve been keeping my mouth shut about it, but it’s true. The fandom treats the IP with dignity, yeah, and in the past, a lot of other fandoms I’ve been in just turned everyone into one-dimensional characters for the sake of memes. But I have never been in a fandom with this much drama and controversy in it. Again, some of it’s deserved and needs to be said, while other debates just get completely blown out of proportion. I’m talking about all the Spaghetti and Whiskey shit. People also talk about characters like Tiramisu and Napoleon Cake getting turned into one-dimensional characters for jokes and honestly I have never seen that. The jokes are there, obviously, but not once have I seen anyone say “Yes this is the only aspect of this character I want to focus on and therefore defines their entire character.” And even then there’s way better things to get pissed about. Also, there’s just a lot of hypocrisy in general towards certain characters/pairings/etc.
Because of this I’m considering just migrating to AO3 or Fanfic.net at some point in the near future, but I haven’t decided which one yet. Once I figure it out, I’ll make a post here. I’ll also be sure that when I move, I’ll transition my old imagines and the ones I’m still working on over to either site I choose. I don’t plan on deleting this blog, but if I do it would be WAY down the line. I may just keep the blog up to take requests while posting headcanons/fics on the other site and linking them here. And/or maybe I’ll set up a Discord so you guys can still share memes and stuff. We’ll see.
I felt like now was the right time to make the post, because I realize my lack of motivation to work on this blog hasn’t been because I dislike writing, but because I have so much outside stress surrounding me at the moment, and I realize going on Tumblr is in-and-of-itself one of those reasons.
TL;DR: Because of the current state of my mental health, and for my own sanity, I can’t be around the fandom right now, I’ve barely had the motivation to work on imagines, and I don’t have a set date as to when I’ll be back. Everything on my feed is depressing and the people on it are seriously causing my anxiety to spike through the roof. Looking to transition to other social media platforms like Fanfic or AO3, and possibly Discord. Blog is not being deleted.
I know this isn’t the update you guys were hoping for, and I’m sorry I’ve been so shitty when it comes to moderating this blog. But now that I have a lot more clarity as to what’s causing the problem I can start to try and find the motivation again to fix it.
I know drama is to be expected on social media, but forgive me for having to draw the line at shaming/blocking people over fictional characters/ship.
I’ll see you all soon, and thank you for the continued support.
