starting to write Endwalker stuff about everyone going to Sharlayan and was like "oh, i wonder if Urianger would want to introduce his partners to his parents/family" and looked up his info. damn i didn't know his parents basically abandoned him and Moenbryda's parents raised him! no wonder he grew up the quiet/weird kid-turned-adult. my poor man :(

yesterday i worked myself up into a I Grab A Hammer I Fix The FFXIV Lore frenzy, this time for gridania and padjals on discord, so i am relaying it to u all too

padjals as absolutely vital figures to gridanian culture and a bridge between humans and the elementals but they’re not part of any governing bodies

in fact they’d be a lot more removed from society than what the game presents us

a lot more fae-like, and when their aging stops, it stops. none of that “adult in a child’s body” creepazoid nonsense, they are Children of the Forest, even if they are children for a very long time

governing institutions are meant to take the words of the Padjal and apply them to ensure a good life for all of the Black Brush but ding ding thats where corruption and xenophobia come in

Kan-E-Senna and her position would be a rare case. Most Padjal would prefer communing with the forest (with a gaggle of Hearers attending to them to act as intermediaries to these intermediaries (its a bit of a mess)) but she has decided to get into the nitty gritty of politics because she Knows the Gridanian Government is being Bad and she Won’t Have it

it’s not just hyurs that get to be Padjal

the gridanian government does its goddamn best to hide this fact and any historical record of it

the 60-70 quest would be about a little duskwight girl becoming a padjal lets go lets fucking go lets fuck the government UP

oooh I'm starting to think now with a new Reflection, the possibility to run into a shard of anyone we know has risen tremendously. it could be as I've seen someone say possibly a shard of Ysayle or Haurchefaunt, but it could be bad and be one of Zenos or literally anyone. I'm HOPING maybe we'll run into another shard of the WoL/Azem, mainly cuz I just want more Azem lore [which i know they can't/won't give a lot of cuz it's mainly up to the player what they're like just like their own wol]

if we do run into shards of friends, similar to when we meet the trolley gang from the First in the Source, I hope it's a little obvious. If not looks-wise, then personality-wise

also random thing, did anyone else notice that sun gate [it's what im calling the portal the Ethos opens] looked like it still lingered in the 13th after you leave?
