You know you spend too much time in your head with your muse when you start dreaming up some kind of epic story. Happened to me tonight and I am inclined to share.
I added a few details to make for a smoother reading experience but most of it actually happened exactly like this in my dream.
The entirety of Garden was in high alert.
Countless students were filing out of their classrooms, SeeDs and instructors mingling in as they poured into hallways. Everyone trying to stay in emergency formation to the best of their abilities, but every other minute some straggler or messenger brushed past them, tearing the orderly walking groups apart again.
You had been in the schoolyard when the distress signal started, and then the headmaster had informed you all of the current threat. Galbadian president Vincer Deling, residing in Balamb Hotel under the guise of furthering the peace treaty negotiations in a meeting inside the hotel's conference room, had issued an attack on the town, likely to take it over and make it an outpost to easier assault Garden in the long run.
All of Garden had been called to arms, weapon and magic wielders alike, to gather at a designated rendezvous point near the main gate.
Making haste to get to your dorm now to fetch your weapon, you spotted the familiar greys of a certain trenchcoat down the hall, a tall blond figure shoving and brushing his way past the mass of people heading to the designated area. He, of course, was striding against that flow of students, headed elsewhere.
Frowning at the sight and well knowing that Seifer Almasy was the Garden's so-called top-troublemaker, you felt the sinking bad feeling of premonition in your gut has you watched him move along. Sprinting into your dorm room and grabbing your weapon, you rushed outside again looking about into the direction the blond must have vanished.
In the past, you and Seifer had started to form some sort of amicable companionship. Nothing as close as the friendship he shared with Fujin and Raijin, but close enough for you to see that behind the arrogant behavior there was a young man who cared and who burned for justice. Only that he had a talent for making the entirely wrong decisions at the absolute worst of times. This right here seemed to be exactly such a situation harboring the chance of getting the tall blond expelled, or worse, you gathered.
Spurred on by the underlying panic all around and knowing that if you wanted to prevent whatever was about to happen, you were running out of time and had to move fast, you decidedly pushed against the crowd, following the route the other man must have taken.
Turning a corner you finally caught sight of him again, standing on the side of the hallway and gesturing widely, a grim expression on his face.
He was talking to a brunet in black leather who had his arms crossed over his chest. Squall Leonhart.
For all the bickering and fighting you were able to witness in the past between those two, they seemed to very much agree to whatever it was Seifer had proposed.
You could see Squall nod curtly, then they set to move again, making their way together against the crowd and soon turning yet another corner which lead to an emergency exit.
Cursing under your breath you started moving again, too. The hallway narrowed down in this area significantly, leading to single study rooms and thus usually not being frequented by so many people at the same time. It was difficult to even take one step forward, costing you precious time until you finally arrived at the corner and dove into the small space leading to the door.
Both of them were long gone.
Clenching your fists, you sprinted towards the door and pulled it open, making your way down the stairs as fast as you could, one or two times nearly slipping and falling.
Luckily, there weren't many students obstructing your descent down the stairs, only a few messengers using this area of Garden to make their ways to their designated destinations quicker.
Pushing outside, cool air welcomed you, along with the sound of hundreds of boots on concrete, mingling with voices talking all over and orders being yelled.
Looking around frantically, your spirits sank as you couldn't make out where the two men had headed off to. Fists clenched, you started walking, eyes flitting over the many figures wearing the Garden uniform, blurring into one dark blue mass.
In passing, you noticed you brushed the shoulder of an instructor, the woman looking at you with raised brows, apparently worried at your expression.
Realizing that you might need help, you put a hand on her shoulder to lean down so she could catch your words.
"Almasy is up to something!", you yelled at her over the roaring of the noise surrounding you. Not the best choice of words, you would apologize for that to Seifer later, but right now you needed her to move.
Sure enough, those magic words hit the right buttons as you could see her expression darken as she nodded, turning to a couple of students, SeeDs and other instructors, probably to get them to help to look for the tall blond.
You on the other hand were not about to wait, brushing past them and forcing your way onward through the crowd, now starting to shove at them if they stood in your way.
If you were lucky, maybe you could reach them before the Garden staff and SeeDs did, talking some sense into that thick head of his.
Finally, you caught a glimpse of light grey again, saw the golden-haired head pop out of the crowd, heading for the cars parked in the area to transport a designated group of SeeDs to Balamb town for the first wave.
Oh, this was just great.
Muttering another curse as you pushed on, finally getting close to the man, you reached out your hand nearly punching another student in the face, waving and snapping your fingers to somehow get the other's attention while you were shouting his name. But the noise around was too loud, he didn't even notice you as his eyes were set with intent.
Letting out a frustrated yell you grit your teeth and pressed on forward, the crowd of people finally thinning out slowly but surely, and you reached out once more, fingers brushing at the rough quality of Seifer's trench on his upper arm.
It was enough to make him look over his shoulder and spot you.
"Seifer, stop!" you shouted, he probably being able to at least gather what you wanted from him by your lip's movement and the grim expression on your face.
You should have known he wouldn't listen.
Turning back around, he nodded at Squall who had pressed onward, only halting to shoot an annoyed glance at the display before him and the holdup you caused them.
You however didn't care much if Squall was impatient. If he had taken to the stupid idea of the both of them going into Balamb town on their own doing Hyne-knew-what, probably attempting to take out Deling by themselves, you would not stand idly by.
"This is madness, don't you get it?!"
By now you had caught up to them enough to trail only a few steps behind, knowing that the SeeDs and instructors would be on the two men soon enough.
"This is taking too long, we'll be faster if we sneak in and take care of it ourselves." you heard Squall say, although he didn't shout at all. It was a little quieter here outside of the crowd, close to the vehicles.
"You want to get yourselves killed?" you retorted, now stepping in front of the two, arms held out wide to make a stopping motion. And stop they did, if just for a brief moment.
"Get out of the way.", Seifer deadpanned, stepping around you and ignoring the grasp of your hand on his arm, swatting it away.
Furious at how ignorant the both of them acted as they made their way towards the vehicles, you were about to snap at them again as you could hear footsteps approaching, two instructors and three SeeDs stepping in between you and the men, taking fighting stances.
Smirking, Seifer turned around again looking directly at you as he unsheathed Hyperion.
"So this is how it's going to be?" he snarled, Squall on his side holding Revolver in his hands, ready to strike if necessary.
"Lay down your arms and surrender immediately, Almasy! Leonhart!" one of the instructors yelled, earning himself an arrogant laugh from the blond and a brief but resolute shake of Squall's head.
Instinctively you had drawn your own weapon, your gaze flitting over the players on the field, knowing that if something happened to either of the men, it had been your doing.
And now you had to decide which side you would stand on.
"How about you try and make us!", Seifer taunted his opponents, pointing his gunblade at the group of people including you.
Not going to have any of this, you shoved past the instructors in front of you with determination, turning your body just so that hopefully Squall and Seifer would read you showing them your unguarded left side as you not wanting to attack them. Thankfully they did.
"Cut this shit out! We are not supposed to fight each other!", you directed at the SeeDs and instructors while backing away from them and toward the gunbladers. If you would have to choose a side, you'd always take theirs.
"Exactly!", one SeeD yelled back at you, raising her weapon at you now. "Garden is supposed to bring the light of freedom and peace to the world and you are not helping the cause with your irrational actions!"
Smirking as you pulled back far enough to brush his side, Seifer gleaned down at you.
"Isn't that supposed to be your line?"
You just snorted in response, readying your weapon and checking your junctions.
"Take me with you."

3:49 PM]Charlie Don't Ship:i wonder if a Same Wall is ever even possible to come up
[3:50 PM]Charlie Don't Ship:dont think the AI would ever play a card in a way to make it possible even if it had one
[3:51 PM]Charlie Don't Ship:Same Wall has to be the super obscure rule that everyone forgets about until the one game every couple of years it comes up and then everyone's PISSED at the one person who remembers it and actually uses it.
[3:51 PM]F. L. Wright:basically like playing Monopoly against someone who actually KNOWS the rules
[3:51 PM]F. L. Wright:xD
[4:03PM]Charlie Don’t Ship:
"Haha, Squall, you're losing it. That was dumb. Face it: I'm in your head. You are so worried about Plus, haha, it's cute," Quistis taunted as Squall curiously placed Doomtrain along the left edge, exposing it's very weak right side of 1.
"Finally got you, haha," Quistis smirked, dropping a bite bug in the center, flipping it. "I'm up 7 to 3 with only the bottom left space open. It's over!" Doomtrain had an A on the bottom and Bite Bug was covered, there was nothing Squall could do. Finally, her humiliation would be avenged and the Card Club King Crown would be hers again.
Squall's face was taciturn and cold as ever. It would've been nice to see his frustration make it onto his face, but she knew him too well to expect it. Oh well, beating him would be enough.
Squall placed Selphie's Card -- A, 4, 8, 6 -- in the bottom left, making it official. "YES! At last!" Quistis squealed, reaching to claim the Doomtrain card as her prize. But quick as a snake, Squall seized her wrist.
"Stalemate," he announced, pointing to the board.
"HAHAHA, Stalemate, that's funny, you're so deadpan."
"I'm serious," Squall said. "Stalemate."
He pointed to Selphie. Then to Doomtrain. Then to the Red Bat card in the upper left. "A&A, A&A. 3 flips 1. 5 to 5. Stalemate."
A cold shock raced down Quistis' skin. "No. No. FUCKING NO."
"Edge of the board has a value of A," Squall continued. "Same Wall. Doomtrain flips, and flips Red Bat."
"I....HATE YOU....SO MUCH...."
4:48 PM]F. L. Wright:Why does this reads as having put too much effort into it
[4:49 PM]Charlie Don't Ship:because I am that much of a dork
[4:49 PM]F. L. Wright:you're giving SeeDs a bad reputation
