Writing goals of 2026
I was tagged by @bluegreen28fics and I think it's a nice idea. It can help clarify the mess in my mind!
1) Finish my angst fest 2025 fic - asap. I think it's going well and I'm excited. It's another royal AU bc of course it is. Someone told me they're not very common in our fandom these days but oh well. I guess if there's no audience for it there's always me rereading.
2) Finish the Rogue Omega sequel - which is around 20k now. I honestly find it unbelievable that people really liked that fic. While I was writing the first part I faceplanted in despair more than once. Anyway I had to stop writing the sequel because I had some fest fics to write. Which leads to...
3) Don't overcommit. I get too excited about fest prompts but realistically I'm a slow writer with limited time due to stupid adulthood.
Alternatively, pace myself better. Write as much as I realistically can, within healthy limits.
[A personal goal for me is to set stricter boundaries at work so I can squeeze in a little more time to write daily]
4) There’s this soulmate ff I started about 7-8 years ago when I was just a quiet reader afraid of interaction. The RL friends I talked about it with aren't even in this fandom anymore. Still, I want to finish it. I think it's got potential.
5) I've eyed a @louisrarepairfest prompt for the last two years and it won't leave my mind. Perhaps I should aim to make this the year to finally write it.
And maybe...
6) There's a short ff of mine people have told me they wished it were longer. I had to edit it massively bc I came down with covid and didn't have time to write everything I wanted to include. I have some deleted scenes from a different POV. And these days I'm thinking eh, why not just give it a POV sequel it now the fest is over and it won't leave my mind.
