I just ran through three and a half floors of the Ancients' Maze without getting in a fight. Does group leader ninja lower the encounter rate?

I LOVE how clever they are with hidden chests. Just have to press against a wall and BOOM, found a new room. It is also worth stating that I'm loving the music. I don't even listen to my podcasts anymore I enjoy it so much. I wish I could attend the Distant Worlds symphony after I complete this.
What did I learn from needing to run from the previous dragon? Nothing. I've learned nothing. <facepalm>
